She panted as she sat at the bar counter, one hand pressed to her forehead. "So tired, but also very happy!"
"As long as you’re happy. It’s getting late; you should go ho." Jim Jones glanced at the ti. It was already close to 11:00. "Let’s go," he suggested. "I’ll take you ho."
He helped Fluffy Zane stand, and they were about to head out.
The deafening music suddenly stopped. People in uniform surged in and took control of the scene.
"Routine inspection! Please stay where you are and do not move. Cooperate with the inspection!"
The police showed their certificates and began searching everyone present.
"This is bad. We won’t be able to go ho for a while. Let’s sit down for now."
Jim helped Fluffy sit down when a stern voice sounded beside them, "Hello, please cooperate with the inspection."
Jim nodded, indicating they could search him.
He knew that bars were checked for drugs. Although certain drugs were legal overseas, in Country S, all drugs were illegal.
As a police officer searched him, he unexpectedly found a small bag of drugs in his trouser pocket.
"What’s this?" the Police Officer demanded coldly.
Jim himself didn’t know when it had been placed on him. He had a sinking feeling this was a set-up.
"I don’t know. This isn’t mine."
"It was found on you, and you say it’s not yours? Then is it mine?"
Jim was speechless. Fluffy turned her head and whispered, "Jim, what’s going on?"
"Maybe soone slipped it into my pocket when we were on the dance floor."
The police officer said impatiently, "Whether soone planted it or it’s just an excuse, we’ll find out after the investigation. Handcuff him and take him away!"
CLICK.
Cold handcuffs fastened around Jim’s wrists.
Fluffy put a hand on Jim’s arm. "Wait."
She picked up her mobile phone and made a call. Jim shook his head with a smile. "Fluffy, I believe the innocent will eventually be cleared. They will vindicate ."
Fluffy frowned at him. "I can’t let them just take you away like this."
"It’s okay. Call your family’s driver to pick you up. I’m afraid I can’t take you ho tonight."
Jim leaned in close and whispered, "I really don’t want your father to know about this. Don’t worry, I’ll be out soon."
He insisted, and Fluffy had no choice but to agree.
Besides, his family wouldn’t just leave him locked up.
Jim was taken away. That night, many others found carrying drugs were also arrested.
He was brought to the Police Station and locked in an interrogation room.
He sat in the chair, and remained there all night.
Fluffy, who had been driven ho by her family’s driver, couldn’t sleep well that night.
She knew Jim had been frad. She was furious with those who set him up and, at the sa ti, deeply worried about him.
The next day, she woke up early.
Mrs. Zane heard footsteps and ca out of the kitchen to see Fluffy hurrying out. "Fluffy, where are you going so early?"
"To see a friend."
"Have so breakfast before you go."
Fluffy didn’t look back. Rummaging in her bag, she pulled out her car keys. "I’m in a hurry, I don’t have ti to eat."
Mrs. Zane shook her head helplessly. "This child..."
When she arrived at the Police Station, Fluffy asked to see Jim but was told he had already been transferred elsewhere and wasn’t there.
Not there?
In just one night, he’d been transferred? Was it because they’d found out he was indeed a criminal, or sothing else?
