Therefore, he had already arranged for Alia Shaw and Sophie Sullivan to be transported by helicopter to a neighboring city. From there, they were transferred to a water route and taken to City N, which housed the embassy of Country J.
The dicinal effect on Sophie had faded. Her hands and feet were bound, her eyes were covered with a black cloth, and tape was placed over her mouth.
Yet, she was surprisingly calm.
No need to guess, this must be Alia Shaw’s doing!
After breakfast, it was as if she had lost consciousness; she had no mory of what she had done.
If she had heard correctly, the first mont she regained awareness, she heard Alia Shaw’s voice.
Alia Shaw didn’t seem to be under duress; her tone was commanding.
Sophie couldn’t help but wonder just how capable Frank Mitchell, the man helping Alia Shaw, truly was.
She didn’t make a sound, nor did she foolishly ask what they intended to do. At a ti like this, besides staying calm, perhaps I can find a way to save myself.
For now, all I can do is wait.
Perhaps Thomas Shannon will co to save . Perhaps he won’t.
Regardless, I must place all my hope in myself. I need to find an opportunity to escape.
The roar of the helicopter’s propellers gradually faded. Her body was hoisted onto soone’s shoulder.
Her head hung downwards, the pressure on her stomach causing intense discomfort.
She didn’t know how long they walked before she was roughly stuffed into the trunk of a car. BANG! The trunk slamd shut.
The car drove for about half an hour before stopping.
The trunk opened, and she was once again carried, then finally thrown onto the ground.
Her body slamd onto the hard ground, making her wince and frown in pain.
She used all her strength to suppress the cry of pain that threatened to escape her lips.
She didn’t know how much ti had passed before the black cloth over her eyes was ripped off.
The mont she opened her eyes, Sophie took in the scene before her: a dilapidated underground warehouse. It was dimly lit, the floor was damp, and the air was thick with the musty odor of a place long deprived of sunlight.
Mice and cockroaches scurried brazenly in the corners.
"You’re finally awake."
The man snorted coldly as he tied a rope around her wrists. Sophie pressed her lips together. "Who are you?"
"It doesn’t matter who we are. If you want to bla soone, bla yourself for being Thomas Shannon’s woman."
The instant the man finished speaking, Sophie’s body was suddenly hoisted into the air. A sharp pain shot through her wrists.
Suspended in mid-air, her arms bore her entire body weight, feeling as if they were about to be rendered useless. Excruciating pain shot from her arms, spreading through her entire body.
The pain made her gasp sharply, and her clothes quickly beca soaked with cold sweat.
Beads of cold sweat rolled down her forehead, seeping into the gauze and stinging the wound beneath.
Sophie trembled violently with pain.
Damn it, my face!
She silently prayed for Thomas Shannon to co quickly.
This is all his fault! Why should I be the innocent one to suffer?
「City T.」
They had just located George Field.
Just then, George Field’s call ca through.
"Young Master, it’s a call from George Field," Charlie River said, handing the mobile phone to Thomas Shannon.
The man’s simring rage had yet to subside. He took the phone. "Speak."
"Young Master Shannon, you sound quite angry."
"Speak! Where did you take Alia Shaw?!"
George Field was stunned. Alia Shaw? Why her? Wasn’t it supposed to be the maniac? Could the intel be wrong?
After a few seconds, he realized Thomas Shannon was trying to divert his attention. George Field chuckled darkly. "Young Master Shannon, if you want to save your woman, release my son first."
"No problem. You decide the ti and place."
