Sophie Sullivan couldn’t vent her anger on Thomas Shannon, so she took it out on Harry instead. "What are you looking at? Get lost!"
Harry, the innocent one, shrank its neck and then hissed ferociously at Sophie.
"Cry out again, and I’ll kill you!"
"OW!" Harry howled nacingly and imdiately began to use its claws to grab Thomas Shannon’s trousers cuffs, clearly wanting its master to stand up for it. It had been threatened and wanted revenge!
Thomas Shannon bent down to pick up Harry. In his embrace, Harry proudly shook its fluffy head and bared its teeth at Sophie.
Sophie glared at it coldly. "Keep showing off, and I’ll stew you!"
"Now you’re the one showing off." Thomas Shannon held Harry in one hand and her chin in the other. "Tell , what got into you today?"
Thomas Shannon wanted to hear her admit she was jealous. This would make his mood incredibly wonderful, extrely delightful.
"It’s none of your business!" Sophie once again shook off his hand, snorted coldly, and turned her head to the side.
"Not going to say it, huh?"
Sophie remained silent.
Thomas Shannon laughed. He withdrew his hand, placed it on Harry’s fluffy head, and gently stroked its fur. "Do you still rember the pack of wolves in the adow?"
Sophie’s gaze faltered. Of course, she rembered. How could she forget? If it weren’t for him back then, she would have long ago been torn apart and devoured by the wolves, becoming their al.
Thomas Shannon looked around the forest. "This is a prival forest. No one has ever counted how many species of animals live in here. Do you want to try staying here for one night and see what it feels like?"
Prival forest... Upon hearing those words, Sophie had already made her choice. Staying here alone for one night was undoubtedly courting death. Especially since... her legs were still bound. There was no chance to escape.
"I don’t want to," she said, pursing the corner of her mouth, her expression flat.
"If you don’t want to, then honestly tell what got into you today."
Sophie laughed in anger, casting a sidelong glance at his unbearably arrogant face. "What makes you think I was acting crazy?"
"Weren’t you?"
"Don’t you know that won have a few days every month when they feel down?"
"You an you’re on your period?" He rembered the last ti she had her period; she wasn’t nearly as composed as she seed now. She had been curled up in pain on the bed, her face pale, her body covered in cold sweat, as if she had just been fished out of the water.
"No," Sophie said. "Who says you can only be in a bad mood when you’re on your period? I’m not exactly thrilled in the days leading up to it either."
"So, you’re just making excuses for yourself?" Thomas Shannon sneered, pinching Harry’s paw pad. He scoffed, "Maniac, you underestimate far too much."
Would he believe such a la excuse?
"Believe it or not."
Sophie snorted coldly, shifting her gaze to the distance.
The less cooperative she was, the more Thomas Shannon wanted to hear her speak those words. He smirked. "Fine, the air here is good, and the temperature is just right. Stay here to clear your head and think things through."
Leaving those words behind, he turned around and left, carrying Harry.
Charlie River and the man in black imdiately followed him, leaving together.
Sophie watched the backs of the departing group, fuming with anger.
"Thomas Shannon, you stand right there!"
The man turned a deaf ear to her, his steps not pausing for a mont.
