After a while, Thomas Shannon suddenly started to laugh.
With a shallow smile at the corner of his mouth, he raised his hand and gently stroked her gauze-wrapped face. "I won’t hold it against you since you’re sick."
"So should I kneel down and kowtow to the magnanimous Young Master Shannon to show my gratitude?"
Even Charlie River, standing to the side, couldn’t bear to listen anymore. Every word from that maniac is laced with thorns, full of provocation. She must be tired of living! Only the Young Master would indulge her like this! If this were before, she’d have long been thrown into the crocodile pond to feed the crocodiles! It wouldn’t be her turn to be so arrogant now.
Thomas Shannon’s expression darkened slightly. Restraining himself, he withdrew his hand. "You get so rest."
As soon as he finished speaking, he turned and left. If he stayed any longer, he feared her sharp tongue would infuriate him.
「Upon returning to the ancient castle, it was already dinner ti.」
The butler approached him. "Young Master, dinner is ready. Would you like to start now?"
"No hurry."
He expressionlessly went upstairs and returned to his bedroom. Just as he was taking off his shirt, he saw Raina Bell folding bath towels inside the bath chamber.
Hearing the noise, Raina Bell was terrified. Her body trembled, and the bath towel she had just folded fell onto the floor.
She looked in fright at the man who stepped into the bath chamber. "Yo-Young Master, do you need to use the bath chamber now?"
She tried hard to control her gaze, not allowing herself to stare at him greedily.
As Thomas Shannon unbuttoned his shirt, his gaze landed on Raina Bell’s face. His eyes narrowed dangerously as he asked, "What’s your na?"
"Replying to the Young Master, my na is Raina Bell."
As she spoke, Raina Bell imdiately knelt down, prostrating herself at his feet with a devotion like all the other female slaves.
"Who allowed you to co in at this ti?"
The man’s low, cold, and strict voice rang out above her head. Raina Bell shuddered, her voice trembling. "Replying to the Young Master, it’s because my mission today was too heavy, and I didn’t finish it on ti... So, I was busy until now. It’s dinner ti, and I thought the Young Master wouldn’t return to the bedroom to use the bath chamber, so I..."
"Enough. I don’t want to hear your excuses."
Thomas Shannon kicked her shoulder, his tone impatient. "Still not getting out?"
Raina Bell felt a sharp pain in her shoulder, and her tears fell instantly.
Enduring the pain, she nodded repeatedly. "Yes, yes, Young Master, I’ll get out imdiately."
Without picking up the bath towel from the floor, she left the bath chamber on her knees. Only then did she stand up and leave the bedroom as quickly as possible.
Looking at the bath towel beside his foot, Thomas Shannon felt a tightness in his chest. He raised his foot and kicked the bath towel away.
He cursed under his breath, "Damn it!"
Raina Bell stumbled out of the bedroom and, in the corridor, ran into Minimus Hart, who was carrying a fruit plate to Thomas Shannon’s bedroom.
Seeing a tearful Raina Bell, Minimus Hart frowned. "What’s the matter? Crying like this is hardly proper."
"Sister Minnie..." As she spoke, Raina Bell’s tears fell again.
She felt so wronged.
Minimus Hart fixed her with a Ryan Lane gaze, warning, "Stop your crying, it’s bad luck!"
"Yes, yes..." Raina Bell took a deep breath, finally managing to stop her tears. Her red-rimd eyes, however, still attested to how heartbroken she had been monts before.
"What happened?" Minimus Hart asked. "Today was her first day of work. She had been fine in the morning. How could she have forgotten the rules so quickly and started sobbing openly inside the castle?"
