Minimus Hart was still curious about this.

As Thomas Shannon headed for the restaurant, he asked while walking, "Where’s the maniac?"
"Young Master, she is in her bedroom. She said she doesn’t want dinner."
She doesn’t want to eat?
Thomas Shannon paused, then changed direction and went upstairs.
Inside the bedroom, Sophie Sullivan lay on the bed, her eyes tightly closed, appearing to be asleep.
The air conditioning was turned up high. She had kicked off the thin quilt, one slender hand resting on her stomach, her sleeping posture quiet and graceful.
Thomas Shannon approached the bedside and sat down. The mattress dipped slightly. He raised his hand and caressed Sophie’s face. "Maniac, wake up."
Sophie didn’t make a sound.
She had only closed her eyes and feigned sleep when she heard footsteps in the corridor.
She didn’t want to see Thomas Shannon, so she decided to feign sleep—out of sight, out of mind.
It would also save her the trouble of having to talk to him.
Her eyelashes trembled faintly when his hand touched her smooth cheek.
A faint smile played on Thomas Shannon’s lips. Still pretending to sleep?
"Maniac, wake up. It’s ti for dinner."
Sophie still gave no response, as if she were deeply asleep and hadn’t heard him at all.
With her eyes closed, her hearing and other senses beca particularly acute.
Hearing nothing, she wondered with so confusion what Thomas Shannon was doing.
Isn’t he leaving yet?
