She gave an awkward smile, lifted her hand, and smoothed her hair, using the movent to mask her discomfort. "Auntie, I’m truly sorry, but I don’t feel well today, so I plan to leave in a while. I’m afraid I won’t be able to attend the dance tonight."
"Not feeling well?" Mrs. Guillen beca concerned. "Fluffy, where do you feel unwell?"
Just as Fluffy Zane was about to make up an excuse, Mrs. Guillen said, "If you’re not feeling well, then don’t go back ho. Your parents aren’t ho, and you’ll be all alone; how pitiful that would be. Why don’t you co stay at Auntie’s house? Auntie will take care of you."
"Thank you, Auntie, but really, there’s no need. There’s a servant at ho; I’ll be fine."

Fluffy Zane hadn’t finished speaking when Mrs. Guillen noticed Lan Singh not far away. She beckoned, and Lan Singh looked their way.
He smiled faintly, nodded, and walked over with steady steps.
Seeing Fluffy Zane standing before his parents, yet never once glancing at him, Lan Singh said with a gentle smile, "Fluffy, why is it as if you haven’t seen ?"
Mrs. Guillen pinched his arm in annoyance, keeping her voice low, "What kind of way is that to speak?"
"Mother, gently, that hurts."
Mrs. Guillen smiled at Fluffy Zane. "Fluffy, your Uncle Guillen and I have guests to entertain, so we’ll go attend to them now. Let Lan Singh take care of you."
Turning to Lan Singh, Mrs. Guillen instructed him, "Fluffy isn’t feeling well. She’ll spend the night at our ho. You better take good care of her. Don’t let anything go wrong, or I won’t let you off easy. Got it?"
Not feeling well?
Lan Singh smiled, nodded, and all but raised his hand to assure Mrs. Guillen, "Understood, Mother. I will take good care of Fluffy. Rest assured."
Only then did Mrs. Guillen slip her arm through Mr. Guillen’s, and they departed.
Fluffy Zane looked away. "I’m not unwell. I was just deceiving Auntie earlier; don’t take it seriously."
"Why would you deceive my mother?" Lan Singh thought for a mont before venturing, "Is it because I didn’t agree to you being my female companion tonight, so you didn’t want to stay any longer?"
"No."
"Then what is the reason? Tell ."
Fluffy Zane turned around. Her eyes were cold, her lightly made-up face expressionless. Her lip color was faint; she only wore a light shade of lipstick.
Her complexion didn’t look too good, but it wasn’t too bad either.
She looked at the man in front of her. His black velvet suit further accentuated his handso and gentle deanor.
His hair had been specially styled, revealing a full, smooth forehead, smiling eyes, a high-bridged nose, and thin lips.
The lines of his face were especially captivating.
Fluffy Zane’s gaze lingered on him, point by point, attentive and serious. Finally, her gaze settled on his eyes, and she t his stare fearlessly. "What the reason is, I think I have no duty to tell you. I’ve already delivered my well wishes to Uncle Guillen. I’ll take my leave now."
She gave a polite nod and turned to walk out.
