"I shall take that as a complint." Sophie Sullivan broke free from the two n and strode over to sit down in front of Frank Mitchell.
The appreciative gaze in Frank Mitchell’s eyes grew even more intense. He watched with great interest as Sophie Sullivan picked up the tea in front of her and began to drink.
Frank Mitchell took a whiff of the tea aroma. "Aren’t you worried there might be a problem with the tea you’re drinking?"
"Well, you tell , is there a problem with this tea?" Sophie Sullivan raised her eyes, asking with a ghost of a smile.
"What if I said there was?"
"Then I won’t drink it." Sophie Sullivan made a show of putting down her tea cup.
Frank Mitchell chuckled. "It’s good tea, specially brewed for you. There’s no problem with it."
"Thank you." Sophie Sullivan picked up her tea cup and took a small sip.
The taste lingered in her mouth.
She nodded. "Good tea."
Frank Mitchell’s smile deepened. "Is this how you also conquered Thomas Shannon?"
"Also?"
Sophie Sullivan put down her tea cup and laughed, her gaze fearlessly eting Frank Mitchell’s. "Are you saying that I’ve conquered you too?"
"Of course." Frank Mitchell put down his tea cup. He stretched out his long arm, his fingertips gently stroking her chin.
Sophie Sullivan turned her face away. Frank Mitchell’s fingers froze in the sky, and he chuckled softly. "After all, you’re so beautiful."
"Frank Mitchell, if you’re not blind, can I take what you just said as sarcasm?"
Beautiful? Although Sophie Sullivan prided herself on her beauty, she couldn’t lie against her conscience now. This face of hers, this still-flawed face, was far from beautiful.
"I value inner beauty more than outer appearance."
"On the contrary, I value outer appearance more," Sophie Sullivan said seriously. "To get back to the point, I’m already here, and I’ve had your tea. When will you take to see George Stanford?"
"No rush." Frank Mitchell waved his hand indifferently, then lowered his head to enjoy his tea.
The real show hadn’t started yet.
Sophie Sullivan forced herself to be patient, her expression growing cold. "Tell , when exactly will you let take George Stanford away?"
"In Country A, there’s a saying: ’courtesy first, violence second.’ You’ve had my tea. Now, it’s ti to play by my rules."
Frank Mitchell gave the man behind Sophie Sullivan a look, and the man imdiately nodded in understanding.
The man took out a pre-prepared security detector and stood to one side.
Sophie Sullivan’s brows furrowed almost imperceptibly. "Frank Mitchell, what are you up to?"
"It’s just a procedure. You don’t need to be nervous."
"Procedure? I don’t recall you ntioning any such procedure beforehand."
Frank Mitchell slowly stood up. His broad robe gave him the air of a refined scholar from a bygone era, exuding an elegant aura and a gentle warmth.
Frank Mitchell gazed down at Sophie Sullivan, his eyes holding unfathomable depths. "I asked you to co alone; I didn’t ask you to bring Thomas Shannon as well."
"Ridiculous! Thomas Shannon is in Country A. How could he possibly be here?"
"Not so, not so." Frank Mitchell laughed heartily. "You brought Thomas Shannon’s ears with you."
He grabbed Sophie Sullivan’s shoulder with one hand. Sophie Sullivan clenched her other hand into a fist and swung it back at him.
Frank Mitchell was prepared, catching her fist tightly in his hand.
Enveloping her rosy fist in his palm, he tutted. "TSK TSK. So tender and boneless."
"Let go."
Frank Mitchell signaled the man behind her. "Search."
"Yes, Mister."
The security detector scanned Sophie Sullivan’s entire body twice but found nothing.
The corner of Sophie Sullivan’s mouth curled slightly. "Well? Does it sting to be proven wrong?"
Frank Mitchell reached out, his hand landing on her collar. "Whether there’s sothing there or not, we’ll know in an instant!"
