She was sweaty and sticky. Thomas Shannon, disgusted with her, said, "Go take a bath."
Sophie Sullivan closed her eyes, her voice weak and listless. "I’m so tired..."
Her hand, as she finished speaking, fell weakly.
Sophie Sullivan was soon fast asleep. Despite her extre exhaustion, she had first forced herself to stay awake long enough to fiercely punish the two maidens. Only after she was satisfied did she finally succumb to her fatigue, closing her eyes and drifting off.
「In the backyard.」
Minimus Hart lay bare-chested on the bed while a maid applied dicine to her whip wounds with sterile gauze.
The maid applying the dicine looked at the raw, bleeding wounds and trembled with fear.
Minimus Hart didn’t make a sound from beginning to end. She gritted her teeth, enduring the intense pain, her forehead covered in cold sweat.
"Sister Minnie, how could the Young Master treat you like this? What will you do if these wounds leave scars?" the maid asked, indignant on her behalf.
What she couldn’t understand, even more, was how a maniac, a disfigured maniac, had defeated all the maids who were chosen for their superior looks.
"Sister Minnie, do you think the Young Master has fallen for the maniac?" the maid voiced the doubt in her heart.
After all, Minimus Hart had been punished by the maniac; the implications of that were self-evident. The Young Master actually indulged her; this was enough to make one wary.
"Can’t you see that the Young Master likes her body?" Minimus Hart replied coldly.
Such an obvious matter, did it even need to be thought about? Any discerning person could see that the Young Master was interested in the maniac’s body, and nothing more. Apart from that, what other rits did that maniac have to offer?
The maid nodded in disappointnt. "I don’t know what kind of luck that maniac has..."
The maniac’s luck... wasn’t it also the Young Master’s...? Who would have thought that a stroke of luck would make her the Young Master’s first woman. It truly inspired envy and jealousy.
Minimus Hart suppressed her anger. "Move faster and stop talking nonsense!"
The scolded maid trembled and lowered her eyelids guiltily. "Yes."
Closing her eyes, Minimus Hart felt a fire of rage burning in her chest. Today, the Young Master could punish her for that maniac... Tomorrow, wouldn’t he allow the maniac to execute her at will? No, she would not allow such a passive situation to occur.
She had a deep, drowsy sleep.
When Sophie Sullivan woke again, it was already nightfall outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.
She struggled to get up, but as she lifted her head, it fell heavily back onto the pillow. She moaned weakly.
Harry, who was curled up and napping at the end of the bed, heard the sound and opened his eyes.
"OW." With cat-like steps, Harry ca to her side, his large, round eyes staring straight at her.
"What are you looking at? Keep staring and I’ll beat you, believe it or not!"
Harry twisted his head and suddenly jumped off the bed. He went to the door and leaped forcefully. His claws hooked the door handle, and he pulled it down with his body’s weight.
Incredibly, he succeeded in opening the door!
As soon as the door opened, he dashed out of the bedroom.
Sophie Sullivan watched the scene before her, stunned. She murmured, "Has he beco an essence?"
After a mont, the sound of footsteps approaching from a distance echoed in the corridor.
Sophie Sullivan closed her eyes, once again cursing Thomas Shannon from head to toe in her heart.
"Awake?" a low, magnetic male voice asked.
Sophie Sullivan gradually opened her eyes and saw Thomas Shannon holding Harry, standing by the bedside.
