"Thomas Shannon, you’re nothing but a pig!"
Thomas Shannon raised an eyebrow. "Who are you calling a pig?"
"You! Thomas Shannon, I’m talking about you!"
Sitting on the bed, Sophie Sullivan felt her imposing air was still lacking compared to his. Unconvinced, she got up and stood on the bed, one hand on her slender waist and the other pointing at the tip of Thomas Shannon’s nose. "You’re even more stupid than a pig! If it weren’t for last night, you would have been sexually assaulted by Raina Bell, you know?"
Just as Sophie Sullivan finished speaking, the man standing by the bedside reached out to embrace her.
Realizing what he was about to do, Sophie Sullivan panicked and turned to run.
Before she could take two steps, the mattress shook violently under her feet, and Thomas Shannon’s arm accurately wrapped around her waist, pulling her into his embrace.
Sophie Sullivan’s body tilted backward and fell into his arms.
Thomas Shannon hugged her tightly. "My heroine, should I thank you?"
"Isn’t that obvious?" Sophie Sullivan tried to pry his hands off but failed. Then, she continued, "Do I look like the kind of person who does good deeds without seeking reward?"
"How about you offer yourself to in return?"
"Screw you!"
Sophie Sullivan turned in his arms, raised her small, rosy fists, and pounded his chest twice. "I just called you a pig, and now you want to sleep with ? Wouldn’t that an I’d be sleeping with a pig?!"
Thomas Shannon chuckled lowly. He caught her fist with one hand, his large palm firmly enveloping her small one, his cold eyes narrowing. "Why did you spend so much ti with Lucifer yesterday?"
"He only woke up in the evening. What could I do?"
"Did he kiss you?"
"Guess."
Sophie Sullivan’s provocative expression was imdiately replaced by pain. She frowned and cried out, "Thomas Shannon, are you a pervert?"
"Tell honestly, did he kiss you?"
Thomas Shannon’s expression darkened, and the tenderness in his eyes slowly faded.
"No!"
"Did your cheeks touch?"
Sophie Sullivan shot him an annoyed stare. "Are you done? That’s a cheek-to-cheek greeting, a form of etiquette! Stop being so petty!"
"Etiquette or not, it’s not allowed!"
Watching her and Lucifer touch cheeks was infuriating! Especially since touching cheeks was one thing, but making those kissing sounds was simply unbearable!
Sophie Sullivan felt like she was about to be driven mad by him. She lowered her head and bit him hard on the arm.
"What are you, a dog?" Thomas Shannon looked down and asked coldly.
Sophie Sullivan showed no weakness. "And what are you, a pig?"
"From now on, no more of those cheek-to-cheek greetings with Lucifer. Understood?"
If he saw it again, he couldn’t guarantee what he might do.
"You’re always going on about Lucifer and . We’re childhood sweethearts; we’ve been like this ever since we were little. But you..."
Sophie Sullivan, gaining montum, pulled away from him and wiped her lips with one hand. "What are you thinking, keeping Raina Bell by your side? Don’t you know she has designs on you?"
"I didn’t know."
"Pretending? Go on, keep pretending." Sophie Sullivan shook her head, her face full of disdain. "I never expected a supposedly tough man like you to be so vain. Is having won fancy you sothing to be so proud and boastful about?"
Thomas Shannon said nothing.
Him, vain? Did he even need to be?
"Let tell you, even if being admired satisfies one’s vanity, you have to consider by whom. If the person who admires you is trash, do you still have anything to be vain or proud about?"
