Sophie Sullivan paused for just one second. Now that she’s pretending to have amnesia, she can’t stop. More importantly, she can’t show any sign of recognizing Fluffy Zane...
William Guillen’s words were left unfinished as he watched Sophie Sullivan walk away briskly.
He pursed his lips and sat down dejectedly. After a while, Thomas Shannon ca downstairs.
Buttoning his shirt leisurely with one hand, he lifted his gaze and glanced at him briefly. "What are you thinking about so intently?"
"What’s wrong with the maniac?"
William Guillen had always thought Sophie Sullivan and Fluffy Zane were on good terms; otherwise, he wouldn’t have approached her just now. But her reaction monts ago made it seem as if she didn’t recognize Fluffy Zane at all. William Guillen couldn’t help but feel suspicious.
Thomas Shannon fastened his cufflinks, sat down, and said, the corners of his lips curving slightly, "She’s playing a ga called ’amnesia.’"
"What?"
William Guillen found he couldn’t understand. What did he an, a ’ga of amnesia’?
The maid poured him a glass of water. Thomas Shannon picked up the water cup, raised an eyebrow slightly, took a sip, and said, "Exactly what it sounds like."
"You’re saying the maniac is faking amnesia?"
From Thomas Shannon’s expression, William Guillen knew the answer was yes.
But he grew even more curious. "Why? What good would that do her?"
"She can act crazy and play the fool to tornt ."
William Guillen: "..."
He must be quite inexperienced; how had he never thought one could play such an exciting ga?
His gaze towards Thomas Shannon gradually grew wicked. "Thomas, play all you want, but you should still take it easy. Don’t let things get out of hand and cause a real tragedy."
"Are you referring to precautions?"
William Guillen nodded.
Thomas Shannon took another sip of water before replying unhurriedly, "She won’t get pregnant."
He’d taken precautions with her from the very beginning, so he never worried about her having a child.
"As long as you know what you’re doing."
It seed Sophie Sullivan couldn’t help after all. After chatting for a little while longer, William Guillen got up to leave.
After William Guillen left, Thomas Shannon asked, "Where did the maniac go?"
"Young Master, after the maniac went out just now, she headed towards the dical office. She probably went to see Dr. Standford," a maidservant said.
Thomas Shannon nodded. She must be desperate for George Stanford to recover soon so he can perform the second surgery on her. No matter how much she fakes amnesia, her visiting George Stanford is one thing that won’t change.
William Guillen drove his car to the Zane family’s residence.
At this hour, Mrs. Zane was out for afternoon tea with friends, and Mr. Zane was still at his company.
William Guillen had tid his visit precisely because he knew they wouldn’t be ho, which was why he dared to co see Fluffy Zane.
When a servant saw William Guillen, they said irritably, "Young Master Guillen, our Miss is unwell and cannot receive guests."
"That’s alright. I don’t need her to entertain . I’m just here to see her."
"The Miss is asleep," the maidservant said, standing inside the doorway, separated from William Guillen by the carved iron gate.
Her stance clearly indicated her intention to refuse him entry.
William Guillen smiled warmly, his voice calm and unhurried, his deanor gentlemanly and polite. "That’s perfect. I’ll just take one look at her and then I’ll leave."
"Young Master Guillen, why can’t you understand what I’m saying?" Before the maidservant could finish her angry retort, her eyes widened as she stared at sothing behind his car. "Young... Young Master Guillen, did you hear a strange sound?"
"What strange sound?" William Guillen turned around, puzzled.
He held his breath, concentrating, and sure enough, he heard a knocking sound coming from his car.
