"Sothing’s co up. I’m at the bar upstairs in the Golden Wing Palace. Tell Thomas to co over."
He stated his business and, without waiting for Sophie Sullivan’s response, William Guillen hung up the telephone.
Sophie Sullivan gave her mobile phone a couple of shakes before putting it down. She tilted her head slightly. "William Guillen asked you to go to the bar at the Golden Wing Palace. Are you going?"
Thomas Shannon remained silent.
The man’s handso face was intermittently visible through the swirling smoke.
His stern, cold aura was even more intense than usual, his handso features possessing a keen, striking edge.
For so reason, seeing Thomas Shannon like this made Sophie Sullivan a little worried.
It seed this was the first ti she had seen him so out of character.
His gaze was distant, as if fixed on so faraway point. Yet, on closer inspection, his deep, cold eyes seed to lack any focus.
Sophie Sullivan walked around the desk and sat on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. The pressure on his lap brought Thomas Shannon back to his senses. He lowered his gaze, looking at her intently.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Thomas Shannon stubbed out his cigarette butt with one hand, then gently gripped her delicate chin. "Worried about ?"
"What do you think?"
Thomas Shannon lowered his head, showering her forehead and cheeks with soft, lingering kisses, finally settling on her tender red lips.
He kissed her gently, but the kiss gradually spun out of control.
Her lips throbbed with a sudden pain, and Sophie Sullivan instinctively pushed him away. "Thomas Shannon, I was just concerned about you, and you bite ! You’re repaying kindness with cruelty!"
She’d shown him kindness and concern, and he actually bit her!
Thomas Shannon chuckled softly, then scooped her into his arms and headed out.
"Where are you taking ?"
"Golden Wing Palace."
「Golden Wing Palace, the bar.」
The Bar Manager was attending to guests in a private room. A waiter pushed open the door, and Thomas Shannon strode in, his presence powerful and commanding.
The manager imdiately bowed respectfully. "Good evening, President."
Thomas Shannon led Sophie Sullivan to a sofa and they sat down. William Guillen and Edward Benson were already drinking. Seeing them arrive, William Guillen smiled and said, "Thomas, you finally made it!"
Noticing Thomas Shannon’s troubled expression, Edward Benson poured him a drink. "What’s wrong? Bad mood?"
Thomas Shannon took the drink, nodded, and downed it in one gulp.
He was beginning to understand the source of Frank Mitchell’s hostility toward him.
If Frank Mitchell truly had so connection to his father... then he wouldn’t show any rcy!
Edward Benson turned to Sophie Sullivan. "Maniac, what do you want to drink?"
A table full of strong liquor was obviously not suitable for a girl.
Even if he poured her one, Thomas Shannon probably wouldn’t allow her to drink it.
"She’ll have milk." Thomas Shannon looked at the manager. "Bring a cup of warm milk."
"Yes, President." The manager imdiately went to handle it himself.
William Guillen, who was sipping his brandy, heard this and burst out laughing. "Thomas, are you serious? You bring Maniac to a bar to drink milk?"
Protecting a woman to this extent... he was really going overboard!
Sophie Sullivan hugged Thomas Shannon’s arm and glared at William Guillen. "That’s the difference between you and Thomas Shannon."
William Guillen was rendered speechless.
What was with Maniac’s inexplicable hostility towards him?
He couldn’t recall ever provoking her...
He hadn’t even gotten angry with her for hiding in his trunk to escape last ti. And now *she* was the one holding a grudge!
The corners of Thomas Shannon’s lips curved slightly; his mood seed to have improved a little. He raised his hand and dotingly stroked Sophie Sullivan’s head. "Good girl."
Sophie Sullivan was speechless.
Was she Harry or sothing?
Why did he have to pat her head and coo at her like that?
The manager brought the warm milk, thoughtfully including a selection of fruit and snacks. "President, the warm milk is here."
Thomas Shannon nodded in satisfaction. He picked up the milk and handed it to Sophie Sullivan beside him.
