As soon as she stepped into the castle, she saw Minimus Hart kneeling ramrod straight on the ground.
Her face was still wrapped in gauze, her back held perfectly upright.
Startled, Sophie Sullivan asked coldly, "Minimus Hart, what are you doing here?"
Thomas Shannon, standing behind her, steadied her with a hand, his deep, cold eyes sweeping over Minimus Hart.
Minimus Hart kowtowed deeply before Thomas Shannon, her forehead striking the floor with a sharp, distinct thud.
Sophie Sullivan’s lips curved slightly as she turned to look at Thomas Shannon. "What good deed did you do?"
With one hand rubbing her head, Thomas Shannon said, "Go back to the bedroom and take a bath. Wait for ."
Sophie Sullivan, already tired, ignored Minimus Hart and turned to go upstairs.
As Sophie Sullivan’s footsteps faded into the distance, Minimus Hart once again banged her head heavily on the floor. "Young Master, I was wrong."
"Co to the study room."
After speaking, Thomas Shannon coldly withdrew his gaze, unbuttoned two buttons on his shirt, and went upstairs first.
Minimus Hart stood up, shaking and unsteady. A maid ca forward to support her. "Sister Minnie, are you okay?"
"I’m fine." Minimus Hart steadied herself. She took a deep breath and, with an expression as if she were heading to her death, went upstairs.
「In the study room.」
Minimus Hart knelt on the ground. Her earlier kowtows downstairs had reopened her wounds, staining her patient clothes with fresh blood.
Thomas Shannon sat in the boss chair, his slender fingertips holding a cigarette, its tip a flickering point of fire, light smoke curling up.
His handso face was cold and utterly expressionless. Those icy eyes scanned her. "Tell , what did you do wrong?"
"Young Master, I was wrong. I was presumptuous and, behind your back, did many things I shouldn’t have..."
"For example?"
Minimus Hart struck her head hard against the floor, prostrating herself devoutly. "I shouldn’t have attacked the maniac, and even more so, I shouldn’t have hard Dr. Standford. Young Master, I know I was wrong. Please spare my life and give one chance to change."
"Spare your life?" Thomas Shannon sneered, as if he had heard the most absurd joke.
Trembling, Minimus Hart raised her head. Kneeling before Thomas Shannon, she looked up at him with tear-filled eyes. "Young Master, please, for the sake of my past contributions to you, I beg you to show leniency and give a chance to change. I promise, I will always obey the rules, rember my place, and never dare to overstep my boundaries again."
A cold, bloodthirsty smile curled Thomas Shannon’s lips. He took a deep drag from his cigarette and lifted his foot. His Italian handmade leather shoes tipped up her chin, and his eyes narrowed. "Minimus Hart, what makes you so confident I’d spare your life?"
A shudder ran through Minimus Hart, and cold sweat beaded on her back. "Young Master, I... I didn’t an that. I beg you, give one more chance. I was just confused for a mont, I forgot my place. Please grant one opportunity. I swear, I won’t make the sa mistake again."
"Too late."
The man delivered a kick to her head, sending her sprawling.
Minimus Hart’s body slumped to the side. He rose and said coldly, "You are nothing but a slave. You have no right to bargain with ."
"Young Master, I truly know I was wrong... I truly know I was wrong!" Minimus Hart knelt, kowtowing repeatedly. She had been utterly panicked from the mont she realized the antidote was stolen.
The feeling of doom was probably just like this.
How could she have forgotten? The man before her was terrifyingly powerful.
