Her mind was a ss, and she forced herself to stop overthinking; this wasn’t sothing she should be contemplating.
"Cecilia Branford, what’s wrong?" Detecting her distraction, Lucifer lowered his head, his gaze burning as he stared at her.
Sophie Sullivan shook her head, seemingly lost in thought. "It’s nothing..."
"Are you unhappy?"
Sophie Sullivan remained silent.
Lucifer held her face, forcing her to look at him. His handso eyebrows furrowed slightly. "Cecilia Branford, tell , are you unhappy?"
Thomas Shannon had bullied her so much; he deserved to pay for what he had done. Lucifer was only doing this to help her vent her anger. But... her expression didn’t seem very happy. No, to be precise, she was unhappy.
"Cecilia Branford, whatever is on your mind, whatever you want to say, you can tell . I’m not an outsider; I’m Lucifer."
He hugged her, gently patting her back, and coaxed softly, "I’m your Lucifer."
"Lucifer..."
Sophie Sullivan’s gaze was distant as she looked up at the sky.
The intense sunlight made her squint slightly.
"Hm?"
Sophie Sullivan felt a tightness in her chest, a sensation so unfamiliar she seed to have never experienced it before.
It was so unfamiliar it frightened her.
"Lucifer, I don’t know what’s wrong with ..."
"Speak slowly; I’m listening."
Lucifer’s eyes darkened; he hoped it wasn’t what he suspected.
"It’s true, I am a little unhappy. Thomas Shannon has constantly bullied , but undeniably, there were tis he treated well."
Sophie Sullivan rested her head on his shoulder, her gaze distant as she looked at the azure sky. Even the pure white clouds seed to grow lovelier.
She said in a low voice, "He had the doctor cure my throat and found Old Mr. Standford to treat my face. I can’t, in good conscience, ignore the good he has done for . Similarly, I won’t just let his bullying slide."
"So, Cecilia Branford is conflicted, unsure whether to repay his kindness or seek revenge, correct?"
Lucifer raised his hand, gently stroking her head. His voice was soft and asured, carrying a power that cald the heart.
Sophie Sullivan sighed softly and closed her eyes. "Lucifer, I’m so conflicted. Thomas Shannon is a detestable person; he’s always threatening , always bullying ."
"Since he bullies you, let him taste the consequences of bullying you, alright?"
Sophie Sullivan shook her head. "But I don’t want him to die."
Lucifer sighed. "Cecilia Branford, do you know about Stockholm Syndro?"
Sophie Sullivan looked up in surprise. Lucifer’s gaze was serene. He caressed her face, his heart aching for her. "Stockholm Syndro refers to an emotional response where the victim develops certain feelings towards their perpetrator. These feelings can include affection, dependency, and even a willingness to help the perpetrator."
Sophie Sullivan looked utterly bewildered.
"Cecilia Branford, your current feelings toward Thomas Shannon are a manifestation of Stockholm Syndro." Lucifer caressed her face and lowered his head. "You’re hesitating, you’re wavering, and you even want to help him out of this predicant. The Cecilia Branford I know wouldn’t be like this; she shouldn’t be bullied and then still consider helping the one who bullied her. Cecilia Branford, all of this is the punishnt Thomas Shannon deserves, understand?"
