Maybe. Even Sophie Sullivan herself didn’t understand this complex feeling.
However, she didn’t want to think too deeply about it; she would just go with the flow. If she liked sothing, she did it. If she wanted to do sothing, she did it. Everything depended on her mood.
Lucifer’s eyes dimd, and Gaby nudged him with her head. He snapped out of it and chuckled. "Gaby still cares about the most."
"What about ?" Sophie Sullivan rested her chin on one hand. "I obviously care about you too."
"Cecilia Branford, if you disliked Thomas Shannon even a little, perhaps I’d feel you cared about more."
Lucifer said this playfully, and Sophie Sullivan playfully replied, "Alright, I’ll start hating Thomas Shannon right now. He really is quite annoying."
"How so?"
"Capricious, moody, domineering, unreasonable..." Sophie Sullivan, quite serious, began to count Thomas Shannon’s flaws on her fingers.
Just then, a team of security personnel holding electric batons burst in. Gaby, agitated, was about to leap from the chair but Lucifer held her back.
His expression turned grim. "What’s going on?"
Leo and the guards were instantly on alert. The security personnel stared at Gaby. "Apologies, but tigers aren’t permitted in public places. We must take her away."
Sophie Sullivan sneered, looking at the man in charge. "What was that?"
"I’ve made myself perfectly clear. If you refuse to cooperate, don’t bla us if we don’t hold back." The man’s attitude was cold, leaving no room for negotiation.
Leo stepped forward. "I’d like to see just how you intend to ’not hold back’!"
Just as Thomas Shannon returned from the restroom, he witnessed the tense standoff. "What’s happened?"
The man’s chilling presence instantly lowered the ambient air pressure.
The Hotel Manager scurried over, pale-faced, and whispered the reason to him.
Thomas Shannon’s expression grew colder, his sharp gaze sweeping the area. "Charlie River, you deal with this."
With that said, he moved to Sophie Sullivan’s side and murmured by her ear, "You stay put. I’ll take care of things."
Without waiting for her response, he turned and left.

Outside the hotel, in the bulletproof rcedes-Benz, the woman waved her hand. "You all head down first."
"Yes, Miss." The guards got out of the car and waited at a distance.
Through the car window, Lillian Spencer watched Thomas Shannon approach with a grim expression. Wordlessly, he pulled open the car door and entered.
SLAM!
The car door slamd shut.
The car itself jolted.
Inside the car, only the two of them remained. Neither spoke to break the silence.
Thomas Shannon lowered his head, lit a cigarette, and began to smoke, exhaling clouds of smoke.
Through the haze of smoke, he turned his head to look at the still-silent Lillian Spencer. "When did you get back?"
"Yesterday."
Thomas Shannon nodded, the hand holding his cigarette rubbing his temple. "Was it you who had them do this?"
Lillian Spencer gazed out the car window, retorting instead of answering, "That woman, is she soone you fancy?"
"It’s none of your business."
"Thomas Shannon." Lillian Spencer turned back to him, a slight curve at the corner of her lips. "That woman’s face... it looks very familiar."
Thomas Shannon’s handso face turned grim. "Lillian Spencer, don’t you dare touch her. Otherwise, I won’t let you off."
The threat, cold and rciless, was uttered by him.
Not a trace of fear showed on Lillian Spencer’s face. Her gaze grew distant. "Speaking of which, that face bears so resemblance to my Junior Sister. What could their connection be?"
