Inside the bedroom, no one responded.
Edward Benson was ultimately worried about her, so he gripped the door handle and turned the door open.
In the pitch-dark bedroom, the heavy curtains were only drawn with a thin layer of gauze curtain.
The light of the lightning intermittently illuminated the entire bedroom.
Linda sat on the bed, tightly hugging her bent legs with both hands, her chin buried on her knee, her gaze vacant and brows furrowed.
She seed to be afraid...
Snap.
The light ca on, bright for a mont.
Edward Benson went to the front of the floor-to-ceiling windows and drew all the heavy blackout curtains.
Then he ca to the bedside, looking at Linda’s body, barely visible, trembling slightly. He felt both heartache and excitent...
This was his Isla, Isla was afraid of thunder. Every ti it thundered, she would invariably burrow into his embrace seeking comfort.
Realizing this, Edward Benson’s throat tightened severely, his voice even more hoarse and low, "Linda... are you okay?"
Rumble —
A clap of thunder sounded as if it exploded overhead, resonating through the skyline.
Linda’s eyes shut tight, her body shook, evidently scared.
Edward Benson sat by the bedside, extended his hand, pulled her frail body into his embrace, gently patting her back with one hand, "Don’t be afraid, it’s okay, I’m here with you..."
At this mont, having soone with her indeed felt much better than facing fear alone.
Linda did not refuse his embrace, allowing Edward Benson to hold her.
Edward Benson felt a surge of excitent in his heart; Linda not rejecting him was the best possible start.
He patiently patted her back, soothing her little by little, "It’s okay, it will pass soon."
Half an hour later, the thunder and lightning indeed ceased.
The torrential rain continued, the drumming sound carrying a uniquely comforting pleasure.
Linda gradually ca back to her senses, withdrew from Edward Benson’s embrace, and awkwardly raised her hand to straighten her short hair, her voice stiff as she thanked him.
"Linda, could you tell about yourself?"
There was no trace of information on how she got involved with Lillian Spencer.
It was enough to show that Lillian Spencer made significant efforts in this regard.
She lost her mory and followed Lillian Spencer’s every word. Was it rely because of her life-saving grace?
For the past two days, Linda’s heart was also anxious.
Her relationship with Edward Benson remained strained like this, which wasn’t a good thing for her.
Because Edward Benson wouldn’t take her to et Thomas Shannon at all.
Without approaching Thomas Shannon, how could she proceed?
Yet Linda was also not one to easily set aside her pride. She considered extending goodwill, but Edward Benson wasn’t a fool. He would certainly detect sothing.
So she remained in this stalemate, planning to devise a comprehensive plan.
Unexpectedly, a thunderstorm deep at night gave her an opportunity.
Linda lowered her eyelids, concealing the fleeting sparkle in her eyes. She pursed the corner of her mouth, seeming to want to speak but stopping short.
Edward Benson softened his voice, softly stroking her hair, "Tell , okay?"
Linda stared at a certain spot, her voice faint and slightly cold, "What do you want to know?"
"I want to know everything after you lost your mory."
Although saying so might seem greedy, Edward Benson didn’t want to deceive her; he truly wanted to know everything about her.
Especially everything after she woke up from amnesia.
Silence.
Suffocating silence.
Just when Edward Benson thought she wouldn’t speak, Linda slowly opened her mouth, "After waking up, the first person I saw was Miss."
She seed to have fallen into that mory.
