"Tell , what’s up?" Thomas Shannon leaned against the wall and lit a cigarette, looking down.
He dared not flatter himself that she called just because she missed him.
Sophie Sullivan leaned on the sofa, hugging a cushion, her voice muffled, "I’m bored, chat with ."
"I’m in a eting."
"Is the eting more important or am I more important?"
This coquettish attitude truly made Thomas Shannon’s heart blossom with delight.
He laughed softly, almost choking on smoke, "What did you say? Say it again."
"If you didn’t hear it, then forget it. Anyway, I don’t care, chat with ."
"Play with Gaby, be good."
"Gaby is asleep."
"What about Harry?"
"Do you want to bring the phone closer so you can hear Harry’s snoring?"
Thomas Shannon: "..."
So, because Gaby and Harry are asleep, she thought of him?
For so reason, being ranked after two animals made Thomas Shannon feel quite peeved.
"Does it have to be ?"
"It has to be you!" Sophie Sullivan’s petulance ca out, insisting it had to be him.
"I’m in a eting, I’ll chat with you after it’s over, okay?"
Sophie Sullivan humd noncommittally.
"Don’t talk later, okay?" He reminded, extinguishing the cigarette butt, and turned into the conference room.
Putting the phone on the table, he said in a deep voice, "eting resus."
Sophie Sullivan held the phone, listening to Thomas Shannon’s voice, thinking he must be insane!
Was he not afraid she would leak the eting’s details after overhearing them?
Holding the phone, Sophie Sullivan went back to the bedroom, and gradually fell asleep while listening.
After the lengthy eting ended, Thomas Shannon picked up the phone, called out twice, and hung up helplessly when he got no response.
Back at the manor, Thomas Shannon indeed saw Gaby sleeping on the carpet and Harry, lying on the sofa, snoring with his belly exposed.
He shook his head with a smile, heading upstairs.
Returning to the bedroom, he saw Sophie Sullivan was already asleep.
Lying on the bed, the black bedsheet made her snow-white skin look even more radiant and captivating.
He undid two buttons of his shirt and leaned over to remove the phone from the pillow, placing it on the bedside table.
Sophie Sullivan vaguely felt soone beside her, opened her eyes sleepily, and saw Thomas Shannon, murmuring, "You’re back..."
"Mm."
Thomas Shannon lay beside her, and Sophie Sullivan’s slender long leg draped over him, as she wrapped her arm around his waist.
Seeing her head wanting to snuggle over, Thomas Shannon quickly held her head, "Don’t move, careful of your face."
She was sleeping on her side, pressing one side of her face. The half of her face wrapped in gauze couldn’t be touched at all.
"Mmm."
Mumbling a response, Sophie Sullivan fell back asleep.
Thomas Shannon propped his head with one hand, looking at her sleeping face, letting her dominantly cling to him. He himself never expected that one day he would be so delighted by a woman’s few unconscious movents.
Truly fallen...
It wasn’t until after 5 p.m. that Sophie Sullivan woke up fully rested.
Opening her eyes, she saw the man lying next to her, freezing for a mont, then realized Thomas Shannon had indeed returned.
She slept too long, her head ached and felt drowsy. As she was about to get up, an arm reached from beside her and pulled her back.
"Stay with a while longer."
"My head hurts..."
