Under the light, it reflected brilliant rays.
His heart sank abruptly, as if a sharp knife was viciously stabbed into his heart.
The pain made him feel like his liver and guts were splitting.
"Don’t cry...Isla, don’t cry, I’ll give you anything you want."
Even if it required his life, he would willingly offer it with both hands.
"Edward Benson," Linda slowly closed her eyes.
"I’m here." Edward Benson tried to hold her icy tiny hands, but she broke free again. He lowered his eyelids in disappointnt, staring blankly at his empty palm.
Linda’s mind was blank, her voice carried a hint of fragile sobbing, "I want to be alone for a while."
Edward Benson’s throat was choked, his voice low and hoarse, "Okay, I’ll leave right away."
He stood up, just took a step and paused again, "There’s warm porridge in the kitchen. I’ll have soone bring it to you in a while. You’ve slept for two days and two nights. If you’re hungry, have so porridge. When your wounds heal, you can eat oily food."
After reminding her, without receiving any response from Linda, Edward Benson let out a barely audible sigh and left the bedroom.
In a while, the servant indeed brought the porridge, cautiously helping Linda sit up and fed her a bowl of porridge.
"Thank you." Linda lowered her eyelids and whispered her gratitude.
It was a stark contrast to her previous icy deanor, which kept people at a distance.
The servant was sowhat surprised, but smiled kindly, "You’re welco, it’s my duty. Miss Linda, if there’s nothing else, I’ll step out. Have a good rest."
The bedroom door opened and closed, and the spacious bedroom returned to complete silence.
After lying quietly for a while, Linda pulled out the infusion needle from the back of her hand.
She turned off the light, made her way to the front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, taking advantage of the faint light from outside.
Inside the courtyard of the villa, there weren’t as many bodyguards as before, patrolling in twos and threes.
Linda bit her lips tightly, feeling ashad to face Edward Benson, and even more unwilling to accept his kindness ever again.
She couldn’t bear it.
Nor did she have the right to enjoy his good will towards her.
Linda woke up, and the weight on Edward Benson’s heart finally eased.
He returned to the guest room, took a bath, planning to finally have a good sleep. In these two days and two nights, he had slept less than a few hours in total.
Now, the tensions relaxed, exhaustion ca rushing in.
Just as he laid down, on the verge of sleep, he heard hurried and disorderly footsteps coming from the corridor.
Knock knock knock.
"Young Master!"
Edward Benson quickly opened his eyes, sitting up, "What’s the matter?"
"Miss Linda tried to escape!"
What?!
Edward Benson was utterly shocked, escape?
Even at this point, she was still thinking of running away?
It struck him like a heavy blow, leaving Edward Benson in a daze for a few seconds before he fully reacted, "Catch her for ! Don’t let her get away!"
"Young Master, rest assured, Miss Linda has already been caught, but..." The bodyguard hesitated at this point.
"Don’t be hesitant, but what?"
"It’s just that Miss Linda injured her leg, she fell while attempting to escape."
Edward Benson couldn’t care about anything else, not even putting on shoes, he jumped out of bed and rushed out urgently.
In the courtyard, all the landscape lights lit up, illuminating it as bright as dayti.
Linda was still in that set of pajamas, sitting helplessly on the lawn, her facial color pale, and her forehead glistening with a fine cold sweat.
She held her calf tightly with one hand, seemingly in extre pain.
