It just so happens to be at Qi Zeyan’s engagent party, surely making people subconsciously associate.
Even the Qi Family noticed his odd behavior. Old Master Qi specifically asked Jiang Jinsang, "What’s wrong with Chengsi today? Looking troubled and distressed?"

Ruan ngxi suddenly didn’t know what to say, she just toasted him with a glass of wine, saying it was to thank him for his workplace care and for attending her engagent party in Pingjiang, though she secretly thought:

Jiang Chengsi was already feeling down inside, typically at the Tang Family, no one drank with him, Old Master Tang used to sip a few drinks, but since Xiaowai’s arrival, worried that the sll of alcohol would bother his little great-grandchild, not only did he stop drinking, but he also stopped taking walks with birds.
He spent all day visiting with the kid, leaving the Hua i bird to him.
During the day, Jiang Chengsi either walked the bird or rode the scooter around, and at night, he’d go to the Tang Family, listen to storytelling with the old man, soak his feet, and drink goji berry tea.
Inner frustration with nowhere to release.
Just in ti for Qi Zeyan’s engagent, there was wine to drink, so he indulged lavishly.
