Hospital
Ti crawled by like years, Tang Wan gripped her arms tightly, her breathing beca more and more rapid, her eyes bloodshot, her lips bitten pale with hints of blue. Shen Shuci stood to one side, looking at the scattered items on the n’s bathroom floor, her body trembling once again with agitation.
The sound of hasty footsteps suddenly rose, jarring against the silence of the corridor, strikingly oppressive and heavy.
"Scumbag! This beast—" Shen Shuci clenched her fist, "how could he be here, and this is a hospital, how dare he..."
Tang Wan bit her lip; even she felt that everything that had just happened was like a dream.
She had been in a hurry too, after using the restroom, washing her hands at the sink between the n’s and won’s bathrooms, when she faintly heard moans coming from next door. She turned off the tap and listened carefully.
It was too quiet around; with no one else around, the pained voice from next door beca even clearer.
This was a hospital, most people here were patients, had soone had an accident in the restroom?
The sound was torturous, the breaths were rapid and restrained, irregularly long and short, causing one’s heart to race. Tang Wan frowned, also worried soone might have suddenly fallen ill.
If she ignored it and an accident occurred, she feared she wouldn’t be able to live with herself.
"Sir? Are you alright?" She got closer.
"Ah—huh..." A long, pained exclamation followed by a quick gasp.
"Sir?" Tang Wan knocked lightly on the door, not expecting that the door wasn’t locked; it swung open with a push.
Even though Tang Wan had never seen such a thing before, she had seen it on television, and upon taking a closer look at the man...
Liang Han!
How could he?
Rembering the nurse complaining earlier about him sneaking away, Zhou Zhongqing furiously berating him for not cooperating with the examination, she imdiately understood. She was shocked by everything in front of her, her pupils trembled slightly, and she froze for two seconds.
At that mont, Liang Han also snapped back to reality, turning his head and eting Tang Wan’s eyes.
Their gazes locked, each filled with shock and panic.
Such people were madn; Tang Wan didn’t need to entangle with him now. As she turned to leave, her phone vibrated...
A call from Jiang Jinsang!
Liang Han could never have expected to bump into Tang Wan. He had searched many places before finding this restroom. He should have been safe hiding in a stall, but the cravings were overwhelming, and he couldn’t care less; seeing Tang Wan, his hand shook with fright.
His mind raced with countless thoughts. They had had a confrontation; would she call the police? Would she spill his secrets? Would she call others over...
And at that mont, the urgent vibration of the phone dragged him back from his shocked thoughts.
"Hello—" Tang Wan squeezed the phone, ready to leave this place of trouble.
"Haven’t finished the check yet?" Jiang Jinsang had just been scalded by hot water, was feeling anxious, and thus thought of calling Tang Wan.
"Not yet..."
As Liang Han saw her on the phone, his mind muddled, and even though it was clearly an incoming call, he instinctively believed, Tang Wan was calling the police, and he lunged forward, grabbing and flinging her hand away.
The phone flew out, "Bang—" it smashed on the tiled floor to the side, the screen instantly went black, its edges now spider-webbed with cracks.
Liang Han was operating purely on brute strength, and Tang Wan, being a woman, beca unbalanced with his shove, nearly crashing into the sink.
"You’re crazy!" Tang Wan snapped.
"You called the police, didn’t you... Didn’t you..." Liang Han’s mind was still clouded, and as he raised his hand to try to restrain Tang Wan.
Tang Wan felt he was full of germs, reeking of filth; there was no way she’d let him near her. His eyes were unfocused and wild; it was clear that he had gone mad. Arguing with a madman would only put her at a disadvantage, she could only compose herself and try to calm him down.
"I didn’t call the police, really, I didn’t!"
"You didn’t?" Liang Han was controlled by drugs, his mind in a daze, murmuring in response to her words, "That’s good, that’s good, can’t call the police, can’t be seen..."
Tang Wan watched him talk to himself, her throat becoming dry with tension.
Seeing him delirious, he actually returned to the n’s bathroom and began to collect the items on the floor, "Can’t call the police, can’t be seen."
Tang Wan inhaled deeply, edging to the side, trying to leave without alarming him, but Liang Han, crouching on the floor, seed to suddenly rember sothing and whipped his head around to look at her.
Their eyes t; noticing she wasn’t in her original place, he clenched sothing white in his hand and charged crazily toward her.
His reasoning was dominated by the drugs, leaving no sense to speak of. If it ca to a showdown of physical strength, Tang Wan would surely be at a disadvantage. Before she could run away, he caught her in a grip, and she cried out instinctively, catching Shen Shuci’s attention.
