Tang Yunxian greeted him politely, yet with a hint of scrutiny and slight hostility. Given that Huo Qinqi was a man of few words and not overtly charming, he naturally wasn’t as likable as Jiang Chengsi.

“Dad, go easy on the drinks,” Tang Wan cautioned him.

“It’s rare for us to eat together; let your dad have a few drinks,” Shen Lao laughed, clearly understanding that Tang Yunxian just wanted to test Huo Qinqi’s limits, possibly to coax so truths out of him. His words were clearly supportive.
Jiang Jinsang naturally supported his father-in-law. Jiang Chengsi was recovering from a severe illness and was still on cold dicine, so he couldn’t drink.
With the situation shifting, Huo Qinqi was left to fend for himself against several others.
Old Tang had collected quite an assortnt of alcohol over the years, and since it was Huo Qinqi’s first visit, he brought out various types—red, white, and yellow—for Huo Qinqi to try.
Even with his high tolerance, Huo Qinqi struggled with mixed drinking, especially with several people taking turns to pour for him.
“How’s Big Brother Huo’s drinking tolerance?” Tang Wan asked, propping her chin in her hand as she looked toward Jiang Jinsang.

Huo Qinqi hardly touched alcohol when he went out, and even on the rare occasions he did drink, his cold deanor kept others from pushing him too hard. How much he could really handle was a mystery.
Shen Shuci couldn’t stand it anymore, “Brother-in-law, that’s enough, let’s eat so food.”

Tang Yunxian originally planned to get him drunk to hear so honest words, but it turned out that Huo Qinqi could handle his liquor better than expected. Even as others felt dizzy, Huo Qinqi seed able to drink more.
