All the royals and nobles within Dashun were now incredibly nervous. At this point, all they wanted was to save their own lives, so they advised Tuoba Lie to hand over Nan Feng as soon as possible, perhaps in doing so, they could spare their own lives.
Nan Feng was in the tent, witnessing the chaos outside with her own eyes and hearing about Dashun being attacked by the alliance of two countries. Whenever she heard about a place being conquered, her mood lifted somewhat, hoping the day would e when Nangong Ye would ride that tall steed that could travel a thousand miles and take her and the baby away from here.
Since that drunken frenzy night, Nan Feng had not seen Tuoba Lie for three months.
She figured he must have gone to war. Nan Feng hoped that Tuoba Lie would never e back, better yet to die on the battlefield, for Nangong Ye would certainly not let him off.

Nan Feng wanted to say that it was all due to training, and that’s why she understood.
Tuoba Lie continued, “In this life, before you remembered Nangong Ye, I could e to tease you every day, and you didn’t resist, just stayed obediently by my side. Remember that time we released the Kongming lanterns? You laughed so happily; it was the first time I saw you smile like that. In that moment, I felt that everything I did for you was worth it.”

Nan Feng too thought back to the day they released the Kongming lanterns. She truly had been happy that day, and she even considered, once back, to properly think about Tuoba Lie, to guide him properly. After all, she had no other acquaintances on the grasslands, and if she never remembered Nangong Ye, she might in the end have married him.
Seeing that Nan Feng remained silent, Tuoba Lie felt somewhat despondent but also somewhat relieved, “Nan Feng, you didn’t deny it right away, it seems that I still have some place in your heart…”
“No, Tuoba Lie, I only feel hate for you, I never liked you,” she said.
