After finishing, Tian Xiaobei added, “I just don’t know how my aunt is doing now. She’s at Aunt Zhao’s house, and I’m afraid she’s being bullied.”

Xia Dabao led Tian Xiaobei towards her own house and then directly around to the pond.
Their house was separated from Aunt Zhao’s by a fish pond, but getting across was quite difficult.
“Xiaobei, just follow me closely and remember to keep up,” Xia Dabao said as she fetched a ladder. She climbed up onto the wall first and then pulled Tian Xiaobei up as well.
After they climbed over that stretch of wall, they jumped down into the wasteland next door, circled around the wasteland, and arrived at Aunt Zhao’s yard.
The yard was enclosed with a fence, and that day it happened to be shut. Xia Dabao found a bamboo pole to jump in first, unlocked the door, and then let Tian Xiaobei slip inside.
“Xiaobei, I won’t go in. I’ll wait for you here. After you finish talking to Aunt Zhao, e here, and we can return the same way,” Xia Dabao instructed.
Tian Xiaobei then went in alone.

As soon as Xia Dabao heard Aunt Zhao cursing, she hurried out and climbed onto the wall to stealthily look.
With Aunt Zhao scolding like that, not only Aunt Zhao and Tian Xiaobei were driven out, but also Lanlan, Uncle Zhao, Second Uncle Zhao, and Zhao Datu all came out as well.
Now, Second Aunt Zhao was standing in front of Tian Xiaobei, looking quite troubled, “Oh, big sister, you can’t talk like that. Xiaobei came back but didn’t steal anything.”
