“Chase her!” Auntie Zhao cursed, too preoccupied to care about anything here as she picked up a broom and set off in pursuit of Tian Xiaobei.
Tian Xiaobei ran like mad, with Zhao Datu hot on his heels.

“Just because he ran out from your house means he stole from you? Who are you bullying? Xiaobei was just playing with me earlier. Then he said he wanted to go back to check on his aunt, just wanted to take a glance, and now you claim he stole from your house? What, does your house have gold and silver mines? Going to your house once means stealing? Tell me, what could he possibly steal?” Xia Dabao said indignantly.
Then Xia Dabao turned to Tian Xiaobei and said, “Xiaobei, you go on home. I’ve got this handled, don’t worry. Zhao Datu can’t beat me.”
Tian Xiaobei saw that so many people had gathered and Auntie Zhao was closing in. Knowing that Xia Dabao would be fine, he ran towards the village head’s house.
Furious, Zhao Datu shouted, “Damn it, Tian Xiaobei, what kind of man are you? Leaving a woman here and running away yourself!”
“Zhao Datu, are you a man? If you were a man, you wouldn’t bully people around the village every day. My dad says a real man is someone who always cares for others and upholds justice, not a spineless bully like you!”
“I… Okay, I can’t argue with you,” Zhao Datu didn’t dare to talk back to Xia Dabao.
Soon, Auntie Zhao, breathless and holding a broom, also arrived. Gasping for air, she asked Zhao Datu, “Where did that kid run off to?”
