Someone is going to jump into the river?
In this day and age, how can there still be such foolish people?
Xia Dabao furrowed her brow but couldn’t help walking over to watch.
The arch bridge was about thirty meters long, with railings, and a man in his early twenties in white sat on the railing, shouting to the people in front of him, “None of you e here, or I’ll jump!”
So, the onlookers nearby didn’t dare to e closer, but Xia Dabao squeezed to the front.
The young man in white seemed well-dressed, with delicate and tender skin, hardly looking like someone who couldn’t go on living. Could it be a heartbreak?
Xia Dabao couldn’t stand to see others in pain, and she wondered, should she use her lightness skills to whisk him away when he wasn’t paying attention?
But before Xia Dabao could act, the man began sobbing, “Tell me, I like her so much, why won’t she marry me? My family isn’t bad, and my father is even an official, but there she goes, preferring that poor Scholar. How am I inferior to that poor Scholar?”
It was indeed a heartbreak.
The situation was somewhat similar to Xia Dabao’s, except she was poor, while this fellow was too rich.

This sobbing man in front of her really wasn’t worth pitying.

Xia Dabao turned around and saw a man in black, wearing a bamboo hat, walking towards her.
Though dressed in unostentatious black, his handsome features were strikingly prominent. Even Xia Dabao was taken aback for a moment.
The man in black walked up next to Xia Dabao and looking lazily at the man on the bridge, said, “If I were that Lady and saw you like this, I’d rather you just jump, for she could then be carefree and happy with that Scholar. She might feel a bit sad for a day or two at the beginning, but only if she can’t see your dead face. Do you know what a drowned body looks like? Eyes bleached white, lips turning black, body swelled up like a sow. If that Lady saw you like that, she’d be disgusted before she could even feel sad.”
Xia Dabao knew this man was using reverse psychology and joined in saying, “Exactly, if she saw your dead body, she might even have nightmares; she would then dislike you even more. Think about it, someone who causes her nightmares, why should she care about him? Unless she’s insensible!”
