“Nan Feng sighed, her daughter is growing up and has her own worries,” she continued with a smile, “but the charm of a young lady is getting stronger. She was always a bit odd pared to the other girls in the village. Now, having traveled so far and seen the world, it might be even harder to marry her off in the future.”
Ye Ge indulgently smiled at Nan Feng, “I’m worried she might have attracted a swarm of suitors while she was out. Maybe someone will e to ask for her hand in marriage soon.”
“Look at your confidence. Then let’s wait and see. I can’t be bothered with much else right now, I’ll go start the fire first,” said Nan Feng, picking up a bunch of Choi Sum and heading into the kitchen.

“Axiang…” Xia Dabao called out in Agen’s house.
It had been half a month since she left, and Xia Dabao occasionally wondered how Axiang and Agen were doing while she was away.
She had been back for a day, and her usual playmates had e to visit, all except Axiang. She knew Axiang wasn’t one to seek out pany, so she took the initiative to bring some dim sum over.
It was Agen who opened the door, still as serene as ever. He appeared shy when he was quiet, and only pointed to the kitchen to indicate that Axiang was inside.
“Agen, here are some dim sum, you go ahead and eat some,” Xia Dabao handed the dim sum to Agen before walking towards the kitchen.
Smoke was still billowing in the kitchen, carrying the smell of dried fish. Axiang was probably frying dried fish.
“Axiang!” Xia Dabao called out as she walked in. Axiang had just finished frying the fish and was putting it on a plate. She hadn’t heard Xia Dabao approaching and was startled by her sudden call.
“Ah, it’s Abao! Why didn’t you let me know when you came in?” Axiang said, her hand on her chest, still visibly shaken.
“Ha ha, I did call out when I was outside, but you just didn’t hear me,” Xia Dabao said as she took a piece of dried fish and put it in her mouth. “I wanted to taste your cooking. Mmm, it’s really good, extraordinarily delicious. Agen is so fortunate.”
Axiang laughed, “If you think it’s tasty, why don’t you stay for a meal? I heard you returned yesterday, but I wasn’t free to e and find you.”
“You’d e to find me? I don’t believe that. You’re always too shy, you’d never e to me. It had to be me who came to you,” Xia Dabao said as she helped herself to the dishes.
Agen also came in. Knowing that dinner was ready, he started setting the table and scooping rice, while Axiang fried another dish of sponge gourd.
Agen didn’t mind Xia Dabao eating with them and formally told her, “You should eat more.”
Xia Dabao responded, “Sure, I’ll eat plenty.”
Agen then served Axiang some dishes. She looked effortless and natural as she ate, seemingly used to Agen’s kindness.
“Agen, who will you sleep with tonight?” Xia Dabao teased Agen, but Axiang kicked her under the table, her face all flushed, making Xia Dabao laugh even more, eager to hear Agen’s response.
Agen, meanwhile, kept eating and said, “I sleep alone.”
Agen was not one to lie. Xia Dabao realized this and couldn’t help feeling a bit disappointed. She teased him, “Look at you, not pulling your weight.”
Axiang kicked Xia Dabao again, then scolded, “You’ve been gone for half a month and you’ve changed, being shameless. Is everyone this blunt where you were?”
