“Let’s change the subject. Oh, has Aqiu and the others left?” asked Nan Feng, as she made her way home.
“Yes, they were sent back to the Great Plain Village by Wu Yang. Wu Yang just got back to the Yamen not long ago,” Ye Ge replied.
“That’s great. I’ll invite Wu Yang for a meal someday,” Nan Feng said.
“There’s no need,” Ye Ge replied with a light smile, “He should be the one inviting you.”
“Why is that?”
“Because he escorted ten ladies back, not ten men,” Ye Ge said, chuckling.
It took a moment for Nan Feng to understand his joke, and when she did, she burst into laughter. “You’re right, Wu Yang should be the one treating me.”
After a moment of laughter, noticing Ye Ge’s intense gaze, feeling a heat rush to her cheeks, she continued walking.
She couldn’t help but wonder what had gotten into Ye Ge. He used to be so cold, but ever since they started dating, he’d been acting like a carnally excited wolf.

“Okay,” Ye Ge confirmed, his primary motive of his visit acplished, ensuring her safe return home.
As Ye Ge turned around to leave, Nan Feng watched his imposing figure slowly disappear into Yongwang Lane.

Upon reaching the courtyard, Nan Feng noticed her father, Nan Quanyou, sitting at the doorstep, his silhouette lonely against the lamplight from the house.

“Dad, I’m back,” Nan Feng greeted him warmly.
