Just as she was about to go back to her tent, the host stopped her. Smiling, he said, “Lady, you are decidedly a favourite. Now that you’re the Flower Queen, you’re not allowed to just leave like this. Later, you’ll have to parade around the city.”
Nan Feng tried to explain calmly, “I am here to deliver goods, not a member of your brothel. I am sorry my unexpected interruption was an oversight; I have other matters to attend to, and I have to go.”
“Ah, you can’t leave. Our petition rules dictate that the one who receives the most roses is the Flower Queen – regardless of where you e from. Once you have taken on the title today, you have to mit to our ceremonial rituals,” the host insisted firmly.
“That’s not fair! I’ve already explained that I’m merely delivering goods; how can you force me to stay here and treat me unjustly? I don’t want to be any Flower Queen, you should rechoose. I regret to decline the invitation.”
After saying this, she then wanted to leave, but she heard the host call out to someone behind her: “Quick, stop her!”
“…” Nan Feng was surprised. Unbeknownst to her, a group of enforcers from the brothel had gathered behind the curtain, quickly forming a line to block her exit.
“Make way!” Nan Feng marched in front of the enforcers. After all, she was confident in her martial arts, should it e to a fight.
The host said, “Lady, it is not upon your whims and fancies to take part and leave the Flower Queen petition. This was unreasonable.
Nan Feng asked with a cold face, “What is this ’today’s escape is not tomorrow’s’? I can e and go as I please today, what are you going to do about it?”
After she said that, she charged towards the group of enforcers.
The venue abruptly turned chaotic. There were screams of female attendees and shouts from the crowd. Nan Feng was focused on escaping, inevitably using excessive force, and quickly managed to overpower half of the enforcers.
Whilst in mid-fight, a man suddenly jumped into the fray. At the moment, Nan Feng was in bat with one individual and the man jumped in between them, effectively splitting them apart.
Nan Feng felt the man’s strong inner power. It indicated he was a highly-skilled martial artist. Upon a closer look, she recognised him, “You are… Butler Yan?”
Nan Feng remembered this Butler Yan. She had encountered him three times, each time by the side of the gang leader of the Dragon Fang Gang.
At that time, she perceived Butler Yan as a man approaching fifty, with ordinary looks, not suspecting that he was skilled in martial arts. Unexpectedly, he turned out to be a master.
“Lady, your memory is good,” Butler Yan chuckled.
The rest of the people present, who saw Butler Yan, wore panicked expressions, especially the host.
“Butler Yan, she…she won the Flower Queen title and wants to leave, she even started a fight with our men.”
Butler Yan’s tone was tinged with anger: “Didn’t you hear Miss Nan say herself that she was here simply to deliver goods? Choose another Flower Queen immediately!”
“But…” The host was in dire straits. They had previously agreed to settle the matter in one round, so why do they have to choose another winner now?
But he had no choice, it was Butler Yan’s decision, so she had to return to the stage to host another round.
Butler Yan then turned to Nan Feng: “I apologize, Miss Nan. The people under me were reckless. Our gang leader is at a nearby tea house. He wishes to apologize to you. Would you be willing to sit down and talk?”
