The weather was cold, and the streets were deserted. Many shops had their door curtains down, so Nan Feng had to rely on the signs outside and “Knock if you need assistance” messages to determine whether or not they were selling clothes inside.
Finally, she found one and after knocking, entered to find the shopkeeper couple having a meal. Seeing that they finally had a customer, they were naturally very weling.
“What do you need? Our shop can do custom orders or you can buy ready-made garments. These fabrics are all newly arrived from the south; they are quite popular with the ladies.”

“This isn’t good; you’ll be cold,” Nan Feng tried to give the cloak back to Ye Ge but was stopped by him. He just hugged Nan Feng tightly, preventing her from continuing to take off the cloak.

Two people were drinking tea upstairs when one of them suddenly saw the figures of a man and a woman outside and casually asked, “Is that General Nangong from Dajin?”
The other leaned out of the window, looked down and said, “The person who walks so upright, no doubt it’s General Nangong.”
“Looks like now that there’s no war, the General has to e out for matchmaking.”
“How do you know he’s here to seek a match? Maybe that’s his wife?”
“I… was guessing, haha,” the man laughed over his tea and then said, “He’s got it easy, when he’s not defending the border, he’s playing with girls. Our Second Prince, on the other hand… geez, stuck with one woman, that thick-headed fellow!”
“Shh,” another cautioned, “Don’t talk nonsense, or you might get in trouble if the Second Prince finds out and decides to behead you. He’s in a bad mood lately, beheading anyone he sees.”
The two shifted their gaze away from Ye Ge and Nan Feng and focused on their tea once again.

Ye Ge and Nan Feng entered from the back courtyard of the Yamen and just as they got to the yard, they saw Lu Jianxi returning from outside as well.
Seeing Ye Ge’s cloak on Nan Feng, Lu Jianxi couldn’t help but feel a bit bitter, reminding himself of the saying: I always thought you were aloof because you were warming someone else.
“Ye Ge, Nan Feng, where did you go in such cold weather?”
Nan Feng smiled and said, “I wanted to buy some clothes, and I was planning to go out alone to browse… but Ye Ge insisted on acpanying me.”
