Fenwick turned toward Ethan and nodded. "Do you want to take a look now, or do you want to rest first?"

"No," Ethan replied firmly. "Let’s move now. The faster we assess the situation, the sooner we can act before things get dangerous."

"Hm," Fenwick nodded.

Without further delay, the group moved forward.

Ethan tagged along with Baron Fenwick as they moved out of the barrier zone.

The mont they crossed it, devastation greeted them head-on. Burned houses lay in ruins, their wooden fras shattered and blackened. Roofs had collapsed inward, and broken beams jutted out like snapped bones.

The ground was scorched in wide arcs where flas had swept through, and deep claw marks gouged the earth. Household items were scattered everywhere. Cracked pots, torn clothes, and broken tools lay half-buried in ash and mud.

They passed through what used to be a village square. The well had collapsed, and carts were overturned and crushed. A faint sll of smoke and blood still lingered in the air. Further ahead, fields that once grew crops were trampled flat, the soil churned into chaos by heavy impacts and fleeing people.

Beyond the village, the forest told an even harsher story. Trees had been snapped in half, their trunks twisted as if crushed by giant hands. Branches lay strewn across the ground, and entire sections of the forest were flattened. Scorch marks climbed up the bark, and large patches of land were left bare where nothing remained alive.

Ethan clenched his fists as he took it all in.

"How many villages have suffered?" he asked quietly.

"Around eight," Baron Fenwick replied. "It affected almost seven hundred people."

From the scale of destruction, the number sounded small, yet the weight of it pressed heavily on Ethan’s chest. Seven hundred lives disrupted, broken, or lost could never be dismissed.

"What about casualties?" Ethan asked.

"Seventeen died from the villages, and seven from our side," Fenwick said. "That’s the count we know. There could be more."

"Hiss..." Ethan sucked in a cold breath. "That’s still too many."

"Most of them were taken away by the wyverns," Fenwick added grimly.

"Taken..." Ethan repeated, his brows knitting together as he pondered the aning behind those words.

"The King’s response?" Ethan asked after a pause.

"He asked to request your help," Fenwick said, clicking his tongue in frustration.

Ethan said nothing, but his expression darkened.

"There’s more," Fenwick continued. "Our territory isn’t the only one this has happened to. Five such occurrences have erupted since last month. We don’t know if it’s only within our kingdom or if it’s happening outside as well."

Ethan was about to speak when a guttural, demonic roar tore through the air.

"Wyvern..."

"Wyvern!"

The guards instantly snapped into action, drawing their weapons and forming a defensive stance. Ethan raised his eyes toward the sky.

Five wyverns circled above. Four were E-rank, with one larger D-rank leading them. Their wings beat heavily, stirring violent gusts of wind. Clutched in their hind limbs were small figures.

"They’ve caught goats and cattle from sowhere," Fenwick said through gritted teeth.

Ethan raised his hand to attack, then paused. At this distance, using lightning, fla, or light magic would be a sure kill.

’Earth elent would be better,’ he thought.

"Did you bring the nets?" Ethan asked sharply.

"Yes, sir," a guard answered.

"Good. Use them to catch whatever falls."

Ethan leapt off his horse. With a powerful kick, he shot into the air like an arrow, creating a violent gust that forced the soldiers behind him to stagger.

"Damn! That was aweso!" soone shouted in awe.

Letting out shrill cries, the wyverns continued to soar, arrogant and fearless. Their scales glinted under the sunlight, and their movents carried a sense of cruel confidence.

One wyvern turned its head and screeched as if mocking them and saying.

"Look, humans!"

Another followed with a harsh cry, as if answering, ’We’ll deal with them later. Let’s deliver these first—’

The sound cut off abruptly.

BANG!

Ethan slamd into one of the wyverns mid-air, his fist crashing into its neck. The impact rattled the beast’s skull, and it let out a choked cry. Using the wyvern’s body as a foothold, Ethan pushed off and flipped in the air.

"Gurrhh!"

The stunned wyvern released its grip, and the cattle began to fall.

Ethan twirled his fingers and shouted.

A water whip ford instantly, lashing out to wrap around the falling wyvern and the goats. The whip slowed their descent, suspending them just inches above the ground before gently lowering them. The water vanished monts later.

"Grrrrr!"

The remaining wyverns shrieked in fury. The one Ethan had landed on thrashed wildly, trying to shake him off.

Ethan moved again.

He struck the second wyvern with a concentrated burst of force to its wing joint, causing it to spiral downward. He followed it, landing another blow to its head that knocked it unconscious before it hit the ground.

The third wyvern lunged toward him, snapping its jaws. Ethan dodged sideways in mid-air, grabbed its head, and slamd his knee into its skull. The beast reeled, wings flailing, before crashing into the earth with a thunderous boom.

The fourth wyvern tried to flee, but Ethan raised his hand and condensed water into heavy bindings that wrapped around its wings. It struggled, screeching, before losing balance and slamming into the ground.

BANG!

Within monts, all five wyverns were subdued, lying groaning and bound on the earth. Nets flew over the fallen cattle and beasts as the soldiers rushed forward

CREECH!CREECH!CREECH!

The Wyvern tried to struggle and knights guarding them were flung away.

Ethan stared at them and released a bit of his pressure slamming them down.

BOOOOM!

The Wyvern quivered, eting the gaze.

"That was easy," Ethan said calmly as he landed.

Baron Fenwick stared at the scene, his lips twitching.

"That was easy for you," he said dryly. "For us, it was hell."

Ethan looked around at the destruction once more, his expression turning serious.
