Everyone’s eyes widened in shock as they stared at the scene before them, unable to understand what the hell they were witnessing.

The Wyvern transford into a human.

It was completely out of the syllabus of reality.

Randall’s lips trembled as he spoke, his voice shaking."Is this even possible?"

"How the hell will I know?" Joel snapped back, his face pale.

Both of them slowly turned toward Baron Fenwick, their expressions filled with disbelief and questions.

Baron Fenwick noticed their stares and frowned."Why are you looking at like that?"

"If you are curious, why don’t you go and ask the Wyvern King." He snorted lightly, crossing his arms. His tone made it clear he was just as clueless.

Randall and Joel imdiately lowered their heads, embarrassed and frustrated.

Before they could say anything else, an invisible wave slamd into them.

A crushing ntal pressure washed over the battlefield.

"Gyaaaahhh!"

"Not again!"

"Fuck!"

Soldiers groaned and collapsed to their knees. So grabbed their heads while others scread in pain, blood trickling from their noses. The air itself felt heavy, pressing down on everyone’s minds.

Ethan’s vision blurred for a brief mont. A sharp pain stabbed into his head, but he adapted almost instantly. He clenched his jaw, grabbed his head, and forced himself to stay upright.

He stared coldly at the figure ahead, his mind racing.

What kind of miracles am I even seeing in this life?

’As expected.. One shouldn’t believe in the shits one reads in books.’

’Practical and real life differs severely.’

"Ohhh!"

The Wyvern King’s eyes narrowed with interest. A strange gleam flickered within them.

"It seems I underestimated you severely. However, you need to do better if you want to take down."

"I see.." Ethan muttered softly.

He closed his eyes for a mont, then opened them again. His eye color shifted slightly, taking on a deeper bluish purple hue.

SWOOOSH!

Smoke began to rise from Ethan’s body. A powerful heat wave erupted outward, making the air tremble. Flas surged around him, licking across his armor and shoulders.

His hands changed. Draconic scales spread across his skin, dark and sharp, reflecting the firelight. Power poured out of him in waves.

This ti, it was the Wyvern King who was surprised.

His eyes narrowed as he stared at Ethan, shock mixing with amusent. A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

"I never imagined to encounter soone like you when I woke up.. I have many questions, but I will leave it after breaking you apart."

His tone was calm, almost polite, yet filled with cruelty.

"Don’t worry, I promise not to kill you."

As he spoke, his right arm began to change. Scales crawled forward, extending and reshaping. The flesh hardened and sharpened until it ford a blade-like structure, long and deadly. He aid it directly at Ethan.

Ethan responded by lifting his greatsword slowly. Flas and lightning danced along its blade as he tightened his grip.

"I can’t promise the sa.. It depends totally on you as to how many hits you can take."

The tension between them grew unbearable.

The next mont, both figures vanished from where they stood.

Their movents were too fast for normal eyes to follow. Only distorted air and rippling pressure marked their paths.

They reappeared high in the air, facing each other. Both raised their weapons, power gathering for a decisive clash.

Just as their blades were about to strike.

A piercing shriek tore across the sky.

The sound was sharp and violent, breaking through the battlefield like shattered glass. The air vibrated violently, forcing both fighters to halt mid-motion.

"Huh!"

Ethan and the Wyvern King both turned slightly, their focus broken. The Wyvern King and Ethan paused at the sa ti.

Both of them turned their heads toward the sudden shrieks echoing through the sky.

Their eyes widened.

From the clouds above, a small group of wyverns was soaring toward them, wings cutting through the smoke and ash. At first, Ethan only noticed their silhouettes. Then his pupils shrank.

Because on one of the wyverns, there were two figures sitting on its back.

And they were—

"Miranda... Wales..."

Ethan’s heart almost leapt out of his throat. For a brief second, his mind went completely blank. Then panic rushed in like a flood. His breath caught, and his grip on the sword tightened so hard his knuckles turned white.

No.

This could not be happening.

The situation was so absurd that it felt unreal, like a nightmare layered over another nightmare.

The Wyvern King turned its massive head toward Ethan, a strange and unreadable glint flashing in its eyes.

"Your children," it said slowly.

Ethan’s eyes darkened instantly. He raised his sword, killing intent surging like a storm.

"Don’t even touch them," he said, his voice low and dangerous.

"Why can’t I?" the Wyvern King replied calmly. "You touched mine, so wh—"

"STOP!"

A small voice cut through the tension, amplified by mana.

Everyone froze.

The source of the voice was a child with a very small stature, yet he stood straight and fearless atop the wyvern’s back.

"Wales, what are you doing here?" Ethan shouted, panic and anger mixing in his voice.

The Wyvern King stared at the child with clear curiosity. "I have the sa question, little one. How did you make wyverns follow you?"

Ethan’s heart pounded violently. His eyes flicked between the Wyvern King and the approaching wyverns, his mind racing through worst-case scenarios.

The Wyvern King had not acted yet, but if it attacked suddenly, even he might not be able to react in ti.

’System, be ready to use all-for-one if needed,’ Ethan thought grimly.

[Roger that.]

The wyverns descended closer.

"Don’t co here, Wales!" Ethan shouted, his glare sharp enough to make grown n flinch.

"Papa... it’s okay. Listen to us," Miranda said as she stepped forward, placing a gentle hand on Wales’s shoulder.

"But—" Ethan hesitated.

"Papa, please... believe us," Miranda said softly.

Ethan stood frozen, torn between his instincts as a warrior and his instincts as a father.

Wales straightened and raised his voice.

First, he bowed deeply.

"I apologize for all the inconvenience you have suffered, Wyvern King," he said sincerely.

"Please believe us, we do not an any harm."

The Wyvern King narrowed its eyes but remained silent.

"It all started when the wyverns rose from the ground and attacked us," Wales continued. "We only retaliated. And as you can see, we haven’t killed any of them. At most, we imprisoned them."

He gestured toward the wyverns nearby.

The wyverns responded with shrill cries.

The Wyvern King tilted its head and answered with a deep rumble, as if the two were speaking in a language beyond words.

"See?" Wales said. "They can attest to it."

The Wyvern King was quiet for a long mont.

"I see," it finally said. "I have told them many tis not to attack humans for food."

Rrrrrrr!

"Oh," the Wyvern King continued, glancing at the wyverns, "you were searching for food when soone threw sticks at you, and you attacked."

"Can you stop this bullshit?" Ethan snapped, his patience running thin. "It doesn’t matter how it started now."

The Wyvern King looked back at him and nodded slowly. "You are right about that."

Wales took a small step forward. "So instead of fighting, why don’t we take a step back and talk in a civilized manner?"

The Wyvern King studied him carefully, then shifted its gaze to Ethan.

"How can I believe you?" it asked. "You humans have mastered the art of deception quite well."

"I can take a vow," Ethan replied firmly. "But you will have to take one too."

The two locked eyes.

The battlefield held its breath.

Soldiers swallowed hard, gripping their weapons. Mages gathered mana silently. One wrong word could ignite another disaster.

Then, at the sa ti, both of them spoke.

"Fine. We step back," the Wyvern King said, its eyes turning cold. "However..."

"If any harm befalls my species," it continued slowly, "I swear I will drag you all down, even if I have to detonate myself."

Ethan t its gaze without flinching.
