Fine, little girl," he said with clear irritation.

"If you can play a flute that satisfies , then I am going to teach you."

Miranda's face lit up instantly.

"Really?"

The man shrugged.

"Don't celebrate too early."

"Most people fail before they even begin."

Miranda nodded quickly.

"I'll try."

The man took out a simple wooden flute and tossed it toward her.

She caught it carefully with both hands.

Several people nearby noticed what was happening and slowly gathered around again. News had already spread around the city about the mysterious man who could calm beasts with music.

Now they were curious.

Miranda lifted the flute slowly. She took a deep breath and placed it near her lips.

At first the sound was rough.

A few uncertain notes drifted into the air.

The lody wavered slightly while Miranda tried to control her breathing and finger movents.

The man leaned casually against a wooden pillar nearby while folding his arms.

He barely paid attention.

He had heard this many tis before.

Many people had asked him to teach them.

Almost none had the talent required.

Miranda continued playing.

The lody slowly began to stabilize.

Her fingers moved more smoothly along the holes of the flute. The notes beca clearer, and a gentle rhythm started forming.

Several people in the crowd exchanged surprised glances.

"Not bad…"

"She actually knows how to play."

The man still appeared uninterested.

His eyes remained half closed while he listened casually. But Miranda did not stop.

She continued focusing on the lody.

The music slowly grew softer and more controlled. The tone beca warm and steady while it floated gently through the air.

Then sothing changed.

Around the middle of the lody, the notes suddenly beca deeper.

They carried a strange emotional resonance.

The sound was no longer just simple music.

It felt calm.

Peaceful.

Almost like the quiet wind moving through a forest.

The man's eyes slowly opened.

He looked toward Miranda again.

Resonance.

He could feel it clearly.

It was not just sound anymore.

The notes were beginning to resonate with her inner spirit.

A faint invisible ripple spread around her while she continued playing the flute. The music flowed naturally as if her heart and breath had beco one with the instrunt.

Her soul strength seed to pour into the lody.

The high notes carried an unusual clarity while the lower tones echoed with quiet strength. The air around them felt calr as the sound drifted through the street.

Even a few small birds sitting on a nearby rooftop stopped moving and listened quietly.

The man stared at Miranda in complete surprise.

His eyes slowly widened.

Then a faint glow appeared in his gaze while he watched her.

"I can't believe this…" he murmured under his breath.

Miranda remained focused and continued playing. The lody grew stronger.

Each note carried a natural flow as if the music itself had found a path through her.

The man straightened slowly from the pillar.

His expression had completely changed.

For many years he had searched for soone capable of understanding this art.

No one had ever co close.

Until now.

"Finally…" he whispered quietly.

"Finally soone who has talent similar to mine."

He shook his head slowly while still watching Miranda play.

"Thank God…"

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Now finally soone can inherit my skills."

He looked at Miranda carefully.

For the first ti, he was no longer seeing her as an annoying girl following him rather he was seeing a true successor.

...…

Inside the study room of the fortress, Ethan sat behind a large wooden desk while reading through several reports. The afternoon sunlight filtered through the tall windows and fell across the scattered docunts.

The room was quiet except for the faint scratching sound of a pen and the occasional turning of paper.

A shadow suddenly appeared near the doorway. One of the mbers of the Black Thorns arrived.

The man bowed slightly before stepping forward and placing a small sealed report on the desk.

"My lord, this concerns Lady Miranda."

Ethan paused and looked up.

He picked up the report and quickly scanned the contents.

His brows slowly furrowed.

"Miranda… learning from a flutist?" he muttered.

He leaned back slightly in his chair and rubbed his temple.

"Now what's up with that girl?"

The report described how Miranda had been seen frequently following a mysterious man in the city streets. Several witnesses ntioned the man playing a flute that could calm beasts and influence animals.

Ethan tapped the desk lightly with his finger.

A faint curiosity appeared in his eyes.

"Black Thorns," he said calmly.

"Yes, my lord," the shadow replied.

Ethan placed the report down.

"What abilities does this man have?"

The Black Thorns agent hesitated slightly before answering.

"We are still investigating, my lord. But from what we have observed, he appears capable of influencing beasts through sound."

Ethan frowned.

"Through sound?"

The man nodded.

"Yes."

Ethan leaned forward slightly.

"Does that kind of skill actually exist?"

He had seen many strange abilities in his life, but controlling beasts through music was sothing completely new to him.

His eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

"Conduct a preliminary assessnt," he ordered.

"I want to know who this man is, where he ca from, and what exactly he is capable of."

"Investigate from shadow..Make sure not to bother him."

"Yes, my lord."

The shadow bowed again and disappeared quickly.Several hours later another report arrived.

Ethan opened it imdiately.

But as he read the contents, his expression slowly beca more serious.

"They couldn't find anything?" he said quietly.

The second Black Thorns agent standing before him lowered his head.

"Yes, my lord."

"We investigated his movents, questioned people who saw him, and checked the records of travelers entering the city."

He paused briefly.

"There is no trace of him."

Ethan's fingers tapped slowly on the desk.

"No background?"

"No known identity?"

"No past records?"

"None, my lord."

The room beca silent again.

Ethan stared at the report in his hand.

If even the Black Thorns could not discover anything about soone, that ant one of two things.

Either the man had appeared recently.Or he was hiding his identity extrely well.

Both possibilities made the situation sowhat dangerous.

Ethan leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes briefly while thinking.

After a few monts he opened them again.

"Keep watching him," he said calmly.

"But do not interfere."

"Yes, my lord."

Ethan placed the report down and folded his arms.

"If he is harmless, then Miranda learning sothing from him might not be a bad thing."

He paused slightly.

"But if sothing suspicious appears…"

The Black Thorns agent nodded.

"We will inform you imdiately."

Ethan gave a faint nod.

"That's enough."

The man bowed and disappeared into the shadows again.

Ethan remained seated in the quiet room.

He looked toward the window where the city of Blanks stretched beyond the fortress walls.

After a mont he spoke quietly to himself.

"Well… if sothing really goes wrong…"

A faint ripple of space flickered briefly around his hand.

"I can just teleport there."

Then he leaned back in his chair again and returned to reading the remaining reports.
