"Oh, those are from Darthing Industries! From the Graviton Series no less." Ezra said, impressed by Avery’s weapons.

He had a single laser pistol, a laser rifle, and a high-powered personal laser cannon.

Each one had a sleek jet-black plating on their exterior that honestly gave them a bit of a sinister appearance. Still, when it ca to performance, these were the best weapons Avery had been able to get his hands on.

’It cost two hundred ninety thousand Krenin for the lot, but it was well worth it.’ Avery thought as he equipped the three guns.

Compared to the cheap laser pistol he was using before, the one he had now was far stronger and efficient. Despite being able to fire more powerful blasts, it used only a bit more energy.

Along with its greater range and higher rate of fire, it was simply an all-around better product.

Then there was his laser rifle.

It was a little more than eight-five centiters long and had a high-performance scope to help aim long-range shots.

Capable of single shot and rapid fire, it was versatile in how it could be used. Though at its highest intensity and fastest rate of fire, the Graviton Series laser rifle could quickly burn through its energy pack dangerously quick.

Finally, his laser cannon.

Truthfully, it was a bit unwieldly at around a ter and a half long, but its boasted incredible firepower considering it was a weapon that a single person could use.

It was around as powerful as the pulse laser that Avery’s old vessel possessed, and while that weapon was incredibly weak compared to other armants for ships, having sothing that could do that much damage compacted into to the size of sothing ant for personal use was impressive.

"Don’t you think that might be a little overkill?" Ezra asked, looking at the laser cannon dubiously.

Certainly, it had a lot of power, but it was large and would be difficult to wield.

"You said that our targets would vary in size and durability, and that we would be going through different types of terrain. So, I figured that having weapons capable of handling any situation would be for the best. Are you sure that your guns are going to be enough?"

While Ezra’s laser pistols were large and custom made, Avery doubted that they could possess more than about seventy percent of the firepower of his laser rifle. There was simply only so much optimization that could be accomplished with weapons of that size.

"There’s no need to worry about that. These two happen to have so tricks of their own." Ezra responded with a chuckle.

He and Avery then went to separate parts of the training room that had been sectioned off from each other. Before they activated the real course, each of them was going to practice for thirty minutes to get accustod to the AR interface.

’It’s definitely a bit more realistic than what I’ve gotten used to at the rcenary association. The interaction response ti is also a little faster too. Though only by a fraction of a second.’ Avery thought, as he pulled the trigger on his laser pistol.

An instant later, he watched as the virtual target that only existed through the view of his visor had a hole blown through it.

A detailed score then appeared to grade him on his aim and efficiency.

He and Ezra were going to be running the sa program simultaneously, and it was going to be assessing them based on a number of factors. Such as clear ti, accuracy, and damage taken, since not all of their targets were going to be passive and would be able to fire back.

Once Avery had fished up with a few practice runs, he took a break in a private lounge with Kasandra and Kaiden.

"So, how did everything feel? Do you still think you’ll be able to use that laser cannon?" Kasandra asked as Avery downed a bottle of chilled water.

"Yeah, the antigravity device and propulsion device work well. It kept up with easily enough even while running around and taking sharp turns. Unless I have to go into so really narrow spaces, I don’t suspect any problems."

Avery’s current setup was to have his laser pistol in a holster on his hip, and his laser rifle strapped to his back.

Obviously, this left no room for his third weapon to comfortably rest on his person, so instead, it was set up to float around and was synced to his movents. That way whenever he needed to use its heavy firepower, he could simply reach behind him and grab it.

There were so concerns of course. Any obstructions could have it knocked away, and Avery was limited to the speed at which it could move.

Still, with only his normal physical abilities, it could keep up with him without trouble. If he had any cybernetic or bionic enhancents, that might not have been the case, however.

"I still think you’re crazy for bringing that thing with you. Anything without a shield generator or ultra dense reflective plating ain’t going to be able to survive your laser rifle. It’s overkill for just about anything." Kaiden said, giving his critical opinion.

And he was certainly correct. If Avery fired his laser cannon at a person, they would not just be dead but completely vaporized. It was more ant for use against heavily armored vehicles or to lay waste to enemy structures.

Nevertheless, Avery expected that the program Ezra had prepared was not going to be simple target practice. If it was, the outline never would have specified that there would be variable durability for enemies.

There likely would not be too many opportunities to use the laser cannon, but Avery wanted it with him just in case.

"Looks like break tis over."

The alarm on his terminal going off, Avery got up and made his way back to the training room. It was ti to begin the first round of his competition with Ezra.
