The Military God was injured, his face stained with blood, though faint anger lingered.

The Divine Gun Silence pierced forward, striking the Wolf King’s chest.

The Wolf King gripped his weapon tightly, smashing it down onto the Military God’s shoulder, suppressing the weapon with both hands. The Qiongqi Dharma Form roared upwards, exuding a fiery aura, as the might of the Martial Arts Legend fully revealed itself.

As the chief commanders of Martial Arts Legend level clashed, the army could not approach without the formation’s blessing. The Wolf King steadfastly suppressed his weapon, and the sound of war drums in his ears grew increasingly grand and heroic.

Military God Jiang Su raised his hand to seize his double-edged spear.

His expression was resolute, with a hint of wildness appearing.

The enormous Golden-armored God-man’s Dharma Form stood tall, like a mountain, wielding a massive divine spear, fiercely driving it down. From afar, the cloud formations forged by the army’s killing intent were torn apart, as the giant akin to a mountain struck, piercing the enormous back of the Qiongqi.

"Kneel!!!"

The Wolf King struggled fiercely.

The imposing auras of the two Martial Arts Legends collided with a resounding crash, a spirit and montum already surpassing the battle that encircled Zhang Ziyong. In such a battlefield, without a swift retreat, the Longevity Guest would et only with death.

...

At the distant edge of the battlefield, an old monk appeared. The Old Living Buddha from the Western Regions watched the tumultuous sands, observing the Wolf King and Jiang Su, seeing an aging madman and a Divine General who, after a Great Defeat, had lost all remaining weaknesses.

After the gigantic Dharma Form of the Military God unleashed its move, the ferocity of the winged tiger surged explosively once more. After several more fierce exchanges, the heavens and earth shook, the wind swept across the battlefield. Military God Jiang Su took the opportunity to retreat, unwilling to fight the Wolf King to the death.

The old monk sighed, gripping his monk’s robes, rushing desperately towards the center. When he arrived, he saw the Wolf King erging from the battlefield, forcing the Divine General Jiang Su to retreat, unwilling to exchange his life for the Wolf King’s.

The Old Living Buddha paused when he saw the Wolf King, whose majestic armor was almost completely shattered. His dark battle robe and cape were stained red with blood, having barely withstood the ferocious attack of the Military God. The Wolf King, who had just stepped into the path of Martial Arts Legend, could not block it.

Not to ntion, he didn’t have the army’s blessing.

Nor the blessing of national fortune.

The Old Living Buddha was deeply moved: "Wolf King..."

One of the Wolf King’s eyes had already closed, and blood continued to flow. He stared at the opponent before him, sideways looking at the old monk, casually saying: "Old monk, why are you here?"

The Old Living Buddha said: "The old monk said he would accompany the king to witness hell."

"A monk doesn’t speak falsely."

"Heh..."

The Wolf King laughed lightly, sowhat weak compared to before, approvingly smiling: "Otherwise, how could one call you the Living Buddha?"

"Truly eloquent."

The old monk looked with compassion at the proud and unyielding Wolf King before him, his body continuously bleeding. The Old Wolf King gazed at Jiang Su, poised at a distance, raising his double-edged war blade. At his whistle, his Divine Steed swiftly galloped towards him, and the Wolf King spoke:

"I know, you want to die with ."

"But as my last request as a friend, old monk."

The Wolf King didn’t look at the old monk, only smiled:

"Take my corpse back to Li Guanyi and Wen Mian."

The old monk was stunned.

The Wolf King’s face showed a calm smile, speaking softly: "As a mber of the Military School, knowing yourself and the enemy is the only chance for a Great Victory. Li Guanyi and the Military God have clashed, but it was only as a general, not a fight to the death."

"But I will force out all of the Military God’s techniques."

The Old Living Buddha’s face showed sorrow, understanding that the Wolf King intended to use his own body as an experint, to gather information and intelligence for Li Guanyi and Chen Wenmian’s future victory.

The Wolf King paused, saying: "Of course, if it’s dangerous, please just take care of yourself... there’s no need to be reckless."

"The victory or defeat of future generations, I am actually not so concerned with. If possible, please tell them what Chen Fubi’s last battle was like."

"Let future generations know of my slaughter, let future generations know of my grandeur."

"But, it doesn’t matter anyway."

"The sound of the war drums grows louder and louder, I cannot stop now."

Jiang Su was already charging in, and the Wolf King mounted his horse, taking a deep breath, the sll of blood stabbing into his body. He spurred his warhorse forward towards the likewise battered Military God, clutching his weapon tightly.

In the void, ripples erged, Qiongqi’s Dharma Form raised its head with a roar, towering like a mountain. It beca tangible, tearing the earth, charging ahead, while the weapon in the Military God’s hand rose, aiming at Chen Fubi.

Chen Fubi’s eyes were locked on the throat of Military God Jiang Su, the sound of war drums incessantly killing, driving him forward. Since his youth, when he secretly ran to the palace and struck the war drums, it seed as though this sound always lingered by his ears.

It was there when he served as a supervisor in the army, when he t Li Wanli.

Even when he retired to seclusion, the sound of the war drums seed to follow him, heavy and murderous, urging him on. Why did he co here, why engage in such a battle?

Was it to fight for the younger generation? Ha, that was rely incidental.

Perhaps it was also partially for revenge for Li Wanli.

The reason for stepping onto this battlefield was largely for revenge for that battle years ago, rely to ride wildly across this battlefield. Reason, where could there be so many reasons?
