"Please stay."

The Shadow Guard was puzzled, and the harmless gentleman smiled and said, "Mr. Xue has sent such a grand gift, we cannot fail to respond. Coincidentally, I have sothing here that can serve as a return gift for Mr. Xue."

Wen He handed over a letter, and the Shadow Guard instinctively thought it was money.

But upon feeling it.

If it were money, the weight would indeed be sowhat disappointing.

However, the person in front was under the banner of Prince Qin, which adds a subtle possibility to this peculiar weight.

Mr. Wen He smiled gently, "You may inform Mr. Xue."

"No need to thank ."

The Shadow Guard grumbled internally, thinking for such little things, there’s no need for thanks, but on the surface, he politely returned a salute and quickly returned to the Wind Listening Pavilion, where he opened the letter. It rely contained so nas.

All of them were from the Xue Family.

The Shadow Guard saw Elder Xue’s faint smile, "The young man has so skills, not bad."

Then he sent the Shadow Guard out again, with another simple letter.

Mr. Wen He was pondering how to tease, oh no, how to have a good conversation with Mr. Yan Daiqing when he noticed another visitor arriving. He was sowhat curious and saw what the Shadow Guard brought out.

It was a letter, like the one Wen He had given, a list of nas, except many had been erased from this one.

A look of surprise briefly crossed Wen He’s face, followed by a faint sense of admiration.

He realized that the Xue Family’s fierce tiger had long noticed the internal issues and had been addressing them.

Xue Daoyong’s letter was already clear in its aning.

This fierce tiger of troubled tis would personally remove the rotten parts within the Xue Family and had entrusted the family’s gold, silver, and business associations to the Qilin Army, expressing full support, yet refraining from placing his sons into the Heavenly Strategy Mansion.

The Shadow Guard said to Mr. Wen He, "The family head says, there is no need to thank Sir."

Wen He paused and said, "The old man’s tactics are superior."

"Wen Qingyu concedes."

The Shadow Guard paused and said, "The family head says, if Sir responds like this."

"Then Sir should give a reply."

Wen He said, "I am all ears."

The Shadow Guard said, "Why not say this is the Western Regions’ Yan Daiqing?"

Wen He fell silent, chuckled, and lanted, "Indeed, each generation has its talent. Wen Qingyu acknowledges this." In front of the Shadow Guard, he burned Xue Daoyong’s letter to ashes, and then the Shadow Guard left.

Ti passed, and it was already the end of June.

The hottest period had passed, the rains increased, and the drizzle began to fall in Guan Yi City, pattering on the trees along the road, producing rustling sounds.

The sound of rain brought a sense of peace to one’s heart, yet the people on either side subconsciously quickened their pace to avoid the rain, lest their clothes and hair be drenched by the sudden downpour.

This rain ca unexpectedly, catching people sowhat off guard.

The old shopkeeper of Huichun Hall had gone out to deliver dicine and didn’t carry an umbrella; so when it started raining, he frowned and decided to find a place to take shelter from it. His hair had turned white, and his body was not what it used to be.

But there was no place to take shelter nearby.

Just when he was frowning, the rain suddenly stopped, but he could still hear the sound of rain falling beside him and see water droplets forming lines falling to the ground, creating small arcs.

He looked up and saw an umbrella.

The old shopkeeper turned around and saw a young man holding an umbrella behind him. The young man wore a blue robe, with a leather belt tied around his waist, and his hair was held by an old jade hairpin. He stood in the rain with the umbrella.

The old shopkeeper was puzzled for a mont, then felt the young man looked familiar.

But being a naturally reserved person, he only expressed his gratitude. The young man smiled and said, "Shopkeeper, did you not bring an umbrella today?" The old shopkeeper said, "I went out to deliver dicine in a hurry."

"If you could just walk to the eaves up ahead, that will do."

"I’ll wait there for a mont."

"This kind of rain cos quickly and goes quickly too."

"All right."

The young man walked slowly with the umbrella, while the old shopkeeper carried a dicine satchel. They strolled through the rain, which gradually beca heavier, pattering on the leaves and splashing on the ground as if separating the world under the umbrella from the surroundings.

The young man led him to shelter under the eaves, closed the umbrella, placed it aside, shook off the rainwater from it, and stood with the old man, watching the rain fall onto the roof and drip along the tiles, forming strings of water.

The old shopkeeper chatted on and off with the young man.

Shortly, hurried footsteps sounded from the rain curtain. A stout man, with a raincoat and conical hat, hurriedly approached, slightly out of breath.

Looking at the old man whose clothes were wet in front of the shop, he said:

"Ha, you old dicine man, if you had let know you were coming, I could’ve made arrangents. If it weren’t for my neighbor telling you were waiting here, I wouldn’t have co out today. In such heavy rain, it’s more comfortable to heat a pot of tea and roast so peanuts in the courtyard."

"And this is..."

He looked at the young man beside him, puzzled, "An acquaintance of yours?"

The old shopkeeper said, "He’s a kind-hearted person who brought here with an umbrella." This innkeeper had only seen Li Guanyi once, and even though he managed Huichun Hall, over the decades, countless apprentices, including Li Mina, had co and gone.
