571: Chapter 39 Victory!

Great Victory!

As the warrior soldiers on the front line began to clash,

the logistics unit of the Chen Country’s large army, responsible for logistical support, received signals from battle formations and beacon fires several miles away at the front line.

Colonel Ning Zhaoji, an experienced logistics officer, imdiately said, “The situation at the front is getting tense, everyone might face a major change.”

“Take the baggage and retreat imdiately, return to our main camp.”

As logistics officers responsible for carrying military rations and siege engines, the most important thing was the ability to escape, to ensure that these resources remained in their own hands, and at the very least, to destroy them so that they wouldn’t be discovered by the enemy.

Ning Zhaoji said in a deep voice, “Everyone, carry flint, once the situation turns dire—”

“Imdiately burn the rations, Cloud Cars, and other equipnt.”

“We can’t let the other side get hold of these…”

“Can’t let us get hold of what?”

The General’s face changed, he drew his sword, and said, “Logistics soldiers, dra—”

Boom!!!!

The roaring explosion almost burst forth.

That kind of sound resembled the launching of a giant Siege Crossbow which required twenty n to operate; with a bang, the logistics camp’s gate was blown open, and a giant bear, over twenty feet long and ten feet tall, slowly walked in.

It was seven ters long and three ters tall, spewing foul-slling saliva from its gaping mouth.

The soldier in front of it was so terrified that he fainted on the spot.

A huge chanical Crossbow was mounted on the back of the giant bear, and seated behind it was a big man who had a rough appearance, wearing Captain Armor, yet he sowhat resembled a slick character from the Martial World, with sothing in his mouth, he said:

“The boss really knows how to stabilize the situation, letting us start by surrounding the baggage.”

A man in his forties or fifties beside him said, “It’s mainly because we’re poor; we eat anything we can find in the mountains, if we don’t replenish our supplies soon, the brothers are going to starve mad.”

“Besides, I wanted to see if the regular army’s Hemostatic Powder is really that good.”

“Ours might be a bit stronger, but it stops bleeding quickly.”

Lei Laong burst into loud laughter, “Elder Shi, don’t talk nonsense, get to work.”

“Damn it, the days of waking up and wondering what to eat for the past eight months are finally over.

Every day I’m with you old ghosts researching what we can eat, such abundant baggage, fitting for Chen Country, really damn wealthy.”

Lei Laong and the logistics officers looked at the Chen Country supplies, even with wine included.

The group who had gnawed on tree bark and eaten insects suddenly had their eyes turn red.

Chen Country’s logistics General Ning Zhaoji was furious and said, “You bandits, dare to commit such a cri against us!

Our chanical Crossbows are exhausted, if you don’t retreat quickly, I will have to…

Lei Laong said, “Is that so?”

Boom!!!

At almost the sa ti, a huge booming sound erupted.

All the defensive asures around the logistics camp where the baggage unit was located were shattered, the high walls on all sides collapsed, and one by one, Exotic Beasts slowly stepped in, including giant wolves and black bears.

In the sky, Flying Eagles screeched.

Mimicking Fan Qing’s habit, Lei Laong said, “Surrender, and you will not be killed.”

The Exotic Beasts roared.

The chanical Crossbows were cocked, ready and uniform.

Lei Laong scratched his head frantically, pulling out a notebook from the front of his Armor.

He glanced at the script; as a man of the Martial World, he was not like an officer, so he had gone to the most General-like Fan Qing and got him to write so lines he could use.

Lei Laong looked through it, then ca to a realization, he put the notebook away, and coughed, solemnly saying:

“You are now under the control of my unit, all soldiers lay down your weapons and cease resistance.”

“Otherwise, my unit will subject you to a Mo Family chanism-style assault.”

“I repeat, surrender, and you will not be killed!”

The baggage team, consisting of third-tier soldiers responsible for logistics, looked at the chanical Crossbows that only giant Exotic Beasts like the bear could bear.

Ning Zhaoji turned pale, opened his mouth, his fighting spirit worn down, and eventually his weapon fell to the ground.

He said despondently:

“What unit are you…?”

Lei Laong naturally replied, “Qilin Army, logistics unit.”

Ning Zhaoji was stunned, “Huh?”

Lei Laong said, “One of the logistics units.”

“In charge of Cooking.”

Ning Zhaoji said, “Ha????”

……

While the logistics and baggage were being encircled at the rear,

Murong Yuan heard that shout for Li Guanyi, having lost too much blood to react on ti.

After all, it had been almost a year since the Qilin na had last been ntioned.

But in the next mont, he caught a glimpse of that Chen Country General, clad in dark Armor and wearing a great cloak, almost instantly leaping onto his horse.

The Exotic Beast warhorse neighed, its cultivation at the pinnacle of the Fourth Layer Heaven.

Without any hesitation, he turned and left.

His mount was a Dragon Horse, stepping on the whirlwind below, as he was the nephew of Chen Country’s Grand Commandant, having seen that youngster’s martial prowess, what nonsense about the Second Layer Heaven, he might not even be able to beat the berserk Yuwen Hua of the Fourth Layer Heaven, yet this fellow managed to forcefully claim victory.

A General knows when to advance and when to retreat.

Liu Shideng held a horse spear in his hand, his Armor imposing, surrounded by several Deputy Generals, leading over a hundred Second Layer Heaven personal soldiers.

These were not mbers of his own unit but were Guest Generals and distant relatives who were part of the aristocratic family, each loss causing them heartache.

They ford a breakout formation, charging towards one side.

But then they heard the roar of Red Flas; Liu Shideng glanced to the side and saw the young War General with the Dark Gold Mask making a fierce charge, brandishing his Battle Halberd to sweep and cleave, heading this way without urgency to imdiately break through the ranks.

Instead, he brought with him a majestic and overwhelming presence.

Liu Shideng’s expression changed, “This aura of a fad General, he did not possess it a year ago!”

The entire army’s formation seed to revolve around this young War General.

He was the Main General of the Qilin Army.
