This is real—Emperor Su Haoyu was indeed attacked.

More than twenty assassins seed to descend from the heavens, leaping from the roof into the hall where the Emperor resided.

Su Haoyu had just instructed the palace attendants to bathe the four little ones—Jing, Star, Qing, and Yun—and was about to take them to the main hall to sleep. But before they even entered the main hall, they saw over twenty highly skilled assassins dropping down from above.

The four little ones burst into frightened cries instantly.

So guards fought against the assassins while others shielded Su Haoyu and the four children, escorting them away. At the sa ti, soone shouted aloud, warning of assassins, and summoned reinforcents to rescue the Emperor and the children.

Su Haoyu tightly held An Yiyun in one hand and Su Yixing in the other, rushing to escape. anwhile, An Yiqing and Su Yi Jing were being protected by palace attendants trailing behind. However, amidst the chaos, the young Su Yi Jing stumbled and fell.

And thus, Su Yi Jing fell to the rear of the group.

"Jing’er!" As soon as Su Haoyu saw Su Yi Jing trip, he imdiately released An Yiyun and Su Yixing’s hands, instructing the palace attendants to lead the two ahead to safety, while he turned back.

Before Su Haoyu could reach Su Yi Jing’s side, he saw the blade of an assassin swing toward Su Yixing. With even greater urgency, Su Haoyu rushed forward. With help from the guards blocking two strikes from the assassin, Su Haoyu managed to scoop Su Yi Jing off the ground just in ti. Although the blade of the assassin didn’t strike Su Yi Jing, Su Haoyu’s arm sustained a cut instead.

Fortunately, Su Haoyu had lifted Su Yi Jing—otherwise, the assassin’s blade would have landed squarely on the child’s body.

At that mont, a large contingent of palace guards charged in after hearing the alarm about the assassins.

As the assassin tried to land another blow on Su Haoyu, the guards swiftly dealt with him.

"Jing’er, don’t cry, don’t cry. Grandpa will take you away now." Worried the guards might fail to subdue the assailants, Su Haoyu, disregarding the wound on his arm, carried Su Yi Jing and sprinted outward.

A few guards escorted Su Haoyu to safety.

As Su Haoyu exited the courtyard with Su Yi Jing in his arms, he encountered An Yiqing, who was being protected by palace attendants near the gate. Imdiately, he freed one hand to grab hold of An Yiqing and led him toward safety.

Su Haoyu had barely run a few steps with An Yiqing in tow before the Imperial Guards arrived in haste.

Su Haoyu imdiately commanded, "Keep as many of the assassins alive as possible—I want to find out who dares send n into the palace to attack , the Emperor!"

"Understood!"

Shortly after, Su Chengyu arrived in a hurry. Seeing the Emperor and the four children unhard, Su Chengyu let out a deep sigh of relief. Then, noticing the wound on Su Haoyu’s arm—its edges turning black—it beca evident the blade was poisoned. Alard, Su Chengyu imdiately summoned the Imperial Physician.

Only then did Su Haoyu realize the injury on his arm. Monts earlier, he had been too absorbed in calming the frightened children to pay attention to himself. If not for Su Chengyu’s remark, he might have entirely forgotten about his wound, let alone suspected the poison on the blade.

When the Imperial Physician arrived, Su Haoyu’s complexion had already started turning pale and his lips black and purplish.

The four children, initially cald by Su Haoyu, began crying once more upon seeing him lying weakly in bed, pleading tearfully for their grandfather not to be like this.

Although the Imperial Physician couldn’t identify the exact poison, they were certain it was spreading.

Seeing the Imperial Physicians helpless, Su Chengyu urgently sent a close attendant to the military camp to fetch Xiao Changyi and An Jing, ordering them to bring Gong Juechen to the palace.
