Chapter 1380: Chapter 1381: Can’t Bear to, But There’s No Other Way

An Jing heard this, felt it made sense, and stopped opposing, but she still reminded, “Se Se, you can go with your husband, but rember not to be so impulsive. Always ask your husband first; he’s better at seeing things clearly and understanding people than you are.”

“Jingjing, you don’t have to say it; I already know. My husband now hates it the most when I don’t listen to him. I wouldn’t dare make him angry,” Gong Juese said with a big, cheerful grin.

Watching Gong Juese so happy, An Jing rarely showed a smile. “Then go back and tell your husband. Just say we agreed to let you go. He’ll surely let you accompany him on the trip.”

“Okay, I’m heading off then.” With that, Gong Juese left happily.

An Jing sighed softly.

After Gong Juese’s figure disappeared from sight, An Jing finally said, “I hope our decision isn’t a mistake.”

She was worried Gong Juese would get into trouble if she went along.

Xiao Changyi said, “Even if we don’t let her go, she’ll secretly follow anyway—that’s just her nature.”

An Jing nodded. Indeed, that’s just how Gong Juese was. Instead of letting her sneak after them, it’d be better to let her openly go with ng Lanqing. At least then soone could keep an eye on her.

“However, my husband,” An Jing mused, “Since Se Se is going, will Gong Juechen go too?”

In An Jing’s view, Gong Juechen would never let Gong Juese face danger and simply ignore it.

Xiao Changyi firmly replied, “He’ll go.” After a slight pause, he added, “Even if Se Se doesn’t go, he’ll still go.”

An Jing instantly understood the aning behind Xiao Changyi’s words. Gong Juechen was not soone without passion or loyalty. Su Haoyu was murdered by the Chilin Emperor, and Gong Juechen would surely seek vengeance for that.

“Whether he goes or not, we should still ask him,” An Jing thought it better to confirm.

“Alright,” Xiao Changyi agreed without objections.

The next day, An Jing visited the won’s military camp once more.

First, An Jing told the female soldiers they could go to war with the army, then she inford Ye Zhi that she had been promoted to Deputy General. Afterward, An Jing went to the military doctors’ tent to find Gong Juechen and ask whether he would join the battle.

Gong Juechen was busy mixing dicine when he heard An Jing’s question. Without pausing his work, he curved his lips into a bloodthirsty smile and said, “Why wouldn’t I go? I’m going. I plan to tear that old bastard Chilin Emperor into tiny pieces.”

An Jing shivered slightly but still managed to say, “ng Lanqing will escort the grain supplies the day after tomorrow; Se Se will go with him.”

“That’s just how she is. Whatever she wants to do, she does,” Gong Juechen responded matter-of-factly.

An Jing said no more and left the won’s military camp, heading ho.

In fourteen days, they would leave the Imperial Capital for Xilin City, and there was no telling when—or if—they would return. Since she still had ti in the Imperial Capital, An Jing decided to spend as much ti as possible with her four little children.

Xiao Changyi, as the Chilin-defeating Great General, was far busier than An Jing. Yet whenever he had a free mont, he would make the effort to spend ti with their four little ones as well.

The four children were only four years and four months old—not even five. Even if they were reluctant to leave them behind, there was no other choice.

Vengeance against his father, Xiao Changyi could not neglect; humiliation to his country he could not ignore!

Ti flew by quickly, and tomorrow was the day of their departure for war. Today, An Jing and Xiao Changyi personally brought their four little children to the palace, entrusting them to Ning Wenxian’s care.

Su Chengyu was also present.

“Brother Yi, Sister-in-law, don’t worry. Wenxian and I will take good care of the children for you,” Su Chengyu assured.
