Chapter 1414: Chapter 1415: Brave
“Everyone, be careful! Protect the General!” Tobanya shouted as soon as she spotted the wild boar, warning everyone to be cautious while protecting An Jing.
In Tobanya’s eyes, An Jing’s survival was far more valuable to Xiyun than their own lives.
Li Wuyu, Du Aya, Baoqin, and Liu Feifei shared the sa thought.
However, because the wild boar was too fast and appeared so suddenly, they didn’t have ti to react before it knocked the closest, Liu Feifei, to the ground.
This wild boar had black fur all over, a ridge of long and stiff bristles on its back, a strong and sturdy body, short thick limbs, a long head, erect ears, a thin short tail, and prominent, exposed canine teeth that curved upward like tusks…it appeared to be a male wild boar.
Those pairs of tusks could serve as both weapons and digging tools.
“Feifei!” Baoqin scread when she saw the wild boar pinning Liu Feifei down. At the sa ti, she drew an arrow from the quiver on her back and shot it toward the wild boar.
But the wild boar reacted with exceptional agility. After knocking Liu Feifei down, it trampled over her and charged toward Li Wuyu. As a result, Baoqin’s arrow missed its target entirely.
Just before the wild boar could hit Li Wuyu, it noticed Baoqin attacking and imdiately shifted its target to her.
Baoqin reached behind her and drew another arrow, but before she could even nock it and fire, the boar struck her with even greater force and ferocity than it had with Liu Feifei. Baoqin was sent crashing to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood on impact.
The wild boar then used its tusks to attack Baoqin, attempting to bite her with a feral hunger, as if intending to devour her completely.
Wild boars are omnivorous creatures and will eat anything they can. Judging by its behavior, this boar must have been starving, which drove it to actively attack them.
“You bastard! I’ve killed more pigs than I can count—I refuse to believe I can’t deal with you!” Du Aya cursed, throwing down one of her axes and charging at the wild boar with just a single axe in hand.
Li Wuyu and Tobanya also drew their longswords and joined Du Aya in attacking the boar.
But the wild boar was too ferocious, and they couldn’t manage to strike any of its vital spots.
Instead, their attacks only drove the boar into a greater frenzy, resulting in Li Wuyu, Tobanya, and Du Aya being slashed by its tusks or scratched by its incredibly tough bristles.
Seeing this, An Jing bent down, pulled an exceptionally sharp dagger out of her boot, and, without caring whether the boar’s bristles would injure her, launched herself at it with unmatched ferocity.
Leaping onto the wild boar’s back, An Jing grabbed its stiff bristles with one hand and used the other to drive the dagger savagely into the animal underneath her.
As the dagger stabbed into the boar, its bristles pierced An Jing’s hands, causing blood to stream down freely.
The dagger sank entirely into the boar’s body, causing it to howl in agony, buck wildly, and jump around in a desperate attempt to throw An Jing off its back and dislodge the dagger embedded in it.
An Jing clung tightly to the boar to avoid being thrown off. She pulled the dagger out and stabbed the boar again with all her strength. However, because she couldn’t aim for its vital spots, she had no choice but to call for help.
An Jing shouted urgently, “A Ya!”
Du Aya imdiately understood. She dropped the axe in her hand, grabbed the longsword from Li Wuyu, who was closest to her, and rushed toward the wild boar, which was too distracted to notice her. With one hand gripping its bristles, she plunged the longsword into the boar’s throat with all her might.
