Now, having cursed and beaten, the Great General’s anger had subsided considerably, and he felt much more at ease.
An Jing hurriedly got up and placed the teapot on the small table beside the bed, allowing the Great General to drink water. She also put on a trembling appearance to prove that she was indeed very frightened at the mont.
At the sa ti, An Jing wiped her face, letting the blood flowing from her forehead cover her face.
This resulted in the Great General being even less likely to realize she was a woman.
Seeing An Jing’s trembling and frightened appearance, the Great General felt even more at ease, and his anger subsided. He picked up the teapot from the small table and poured himself a glass of water to drink.
At the sa ti, he said, "You may leave."
He also noticed that this wasn’t the usual soldier who served him. However, such low-ranking soldiers being beaten and scolded seed to him to be the norm. He often scolded and beat those under his command when he was displeased. To be personally scolded by him was considered a fortune for that person.
"Yes, Great General!" An Jing imdiately responded respectfully and quickly left.
Once out of the screen, An Jing’s gaze changed to extrely cold, and she no longer trembled.
There was a Great General behind the screen, and being able to rise to such a rank ant he had considerable skills, so An Jing dared not act too boldly and casually take the three pieces of parchnt on the table.
She rely stepped slightly to the left, and with a reach, she quickly grabbed the three pieces of parchnt from the table, maintaining the sa pace and rhythm as she continued to walk out.
The Great General inside was drinking tea and didn’t hear anything unusual outside, so naturally, he didn’t co out to check.
Holding the three pieces of parchnt in her hands, An Jing wasn’t in a hurry to look at them. She tucked them into her chest and continued walking out.
When her hand went to lift the tent flap, An Jing once again put on a trembling appearance. Then, she lifted the flap and walked out of the tent.
The four soldiers guarding outside the tent saw An Jing’s bloodied face and hearing their Great General’s scolding, they all felt very sympathetic towards An Jing. At the sa ti, they felt fortunate. Luckily, it wasn’t them who went in. What a relief.
"Go find a military doctor quickly," one of the soldiers urged in a low voice, kindly.
"Yes." An Jing responded with a look of lingering fear, trembling, and quickly walked away.
The four soldiers all presud An Jing went to find a military doctor and did not sense anything unusual.
Li Wuyu was hiding behind an unlit tent not far away. Upon seeing An Jing approaching quickly and already out of sight of the four senior soldiers, Li Wuyu erged to join An Jing.
"Master, your face..." Despite the dim light, Li Wuyu noticed An Jing’s bloodied face and was startled.
"I’m fine, just got hit by a brute," An Jing whispered to comfort Li Wuyu while leading him in another direction.
Reaching a deserted spot with a tent where visibility was slightly better, An Jing took Li Wuyu along and stood behind the tent, taking out the three pieces of parchnt from her chest to look at them.
Despite the dimness, An Jing could vaguely see the three pieces of parchnt: one was a map of Jingye City’s current military deploynt, one was a detailed terrain map of Chilin Kingdom, and the last was a very rough map of Xiyun.
As An Jing saw the detailed map of Chilin Kingdom, her eyes sparkled with excitent.
She had planned for it, but didn’t expect to actually get this map.
It seed even the heavens were assisting her.
