"It’s quite heavy, be careful."
Xiao Changyi cautiously placed the battle helt on Su Yi Jing’s head while reminding him of its weight. Su Yi Jing imdiately understood and raised both his little hands to support the helt, avoiding it pressing down on his head.
Xiao Changyi was an adult, and even though Su Yi Jing was six and a half, he was still considered a child. His head couldn’t compare to Xiao Changyi’s size. Once Xiao Changyi’s battle helt was on Su Yi Jing’s head, his eyes, nose, and the upper half of his face were covered. Su Yixing, An Yiqing, and An Yiyun saw this and burst into laughter, collapsing into An Jing’s embrace, finding Su Yi Jing’s appearance hilariously funny.
Xiao Changyi raised the helt slightly so that Su Yi Jing’s eyes were exposed. His eyes shone brightly from underneath the still-loose helt that fit neither snugly nor securely, indicating how truly thrilled he was inside.
Seeing her eldest son’s eyes so bright, An Jing felt very happy too, and asked, "Jing’er, why do you like your father’s battle helt?"
Before Su Yi Jing could respond, An Yiqing imdiately raised a hand and said, "I know, I know. Big brother wants to be a Great General like dad when he grows up!"
An Jing took the opportunity to laugh and ask, "Then what about you, Qinger? Your big brother wants to be a Great General when he grows up, what do you want to be?"
"As for ," An Yiqing instantly grinned like a Maitreya Buddha, "I just want to eat, drink, and have fun."
"You cheeky thing!" An Jing laughed and scolded. "Your second uncle told us that during these two years in the palace, you’re the most mischievous one."
An Yiqing wasn’t the least bit afraid. Although he was only six and a half, An Jing’s deanor clearly showed she wasn’t angry, so he continued to smile like a Maitreya Buddha and snuggled a bit closer to An Jing.
"Mother, I want to beco the top scholar!" An Yiyun unexpectedly declared.
An Jing was taken aback for a mont and exchanged a glance with Xiao Changyi before smiling and asking, "Why does our Yun Er want to beco the top scholar when he grows up?"
"The Grand Tutor and others say I can pass the exams, so I want to beco one," An Yiyun earnestly replied.
Prior, Su Chengyu had written many letters about the children to An Jing and Xiao Changyi, ntioning how An Yiyun was adored by the Grand Tutors at the Upper Study Room for his intelligence.
Even without Su Chengyu’s ntion, An Jing, as a mother, was aware of An Yiyun’s cleverness. Back then, when she taught the children to recite poems, An Yiyun only needed one instance to morize them. She already thought her child was smart then.
Despite this, An Jing was still a little surprised.
But before An Jing could say anything, An Yiyun continued, "Mother, I’m always the top scorer when the Grand Tutor tests my brothers and ."
An Jing imdiately chuckled and praised, "Our Yun Er is truly smart."
An Yiyun’s little face bead with pride.
An Jing found it all the more amusing, yet thought her youngest son was genuinely adorable in this mont.
At this point, Su Yixing said, "Mother, don’t ask what I want to be when I grow up because I won’t tell you."
Before An Jing could respond, An Yiqing burst out laughing, "Second brother, what else would you want to do but collect treasures when you grow up? Mother, father, let tell you, second brother has so many treasures, mostly gotten from asking second uncle for them. Our room is nearly filled up!"
"Big mouth!" Su Yixing imdiately got angry and shot a fierce glare at An Yiqing.
