Capítulo 1385: Chapter 1381: Not Interested in Traditional Chinese dicine

“Haha, yes, his na is Chen Yang, he’s a friend of mine. His dical knowledge is exceptional, so I invited him to join . It’s a good opportunity for everyone to learn from each other,” Wang Jingman introduced with a smile.

“Hello everyone, sorry to intrude,” Chen Yang said.

Since Wang Jingman had introduced him, Chen Yang didn’t want to be impolite. He stood up and spoke up respectfully.

The rest of the attendees were simply there for academic discussion and networking.

So naturally, they had no objections and warmly greeted Chen Yang, reciprocating and getting to know him.

Only Guo Hanlin’s expression was a bit unnatural.

“Haha, since Brother Chen is here, why don’t you have a seat first? Let’s sit down and chat,” Guo Hanlin’s facial muscles twitched slightly, as he gestured towards a nearby chair.

“Sure, thank you.”

Chen Yang noticed the change in Guo Hanlin’s expression.

But he didn’t make anything of it and politely thanked him before sitting down with Wang Jingman.

Once seated, Guo Hanlin called over the waiter to start serving the dishes.

Since it was a gathering, food and drink were a must.

Once the dishes were all served, everyone started eating.

During the al, conversation naturally ensued.

Before Chen Yang and Wang Jingman could say much, Guo Hanlin initiated a chat with Chen Yang.

“Brother Chen, if you don’t mind asking, which major hospital are you currently working at? I’ve attended several dical conferences and t many colleagues, but I don’t seem to recognize you,” Guo Hanlin asked. Although it was a bit forward to start by asking where Chen Yang worked, his tone was still neutral without crossing any boundaries.

“Chen Yang hasn’t interviewed at any major hospitals since graduating, so it’s normal that you don’t know him.” Before Chen Yang could answer, Wang Jingman, sitting between the two, answered on his behalf.

Chen Yang had intended to say sothing similar to Wang Jingman, so he smiled, nodded, and agreed with her response.

Upon hearing that Chen Yang hadn’t interviewed at any hospitals, Guo Hanlin’s expression imdiately turned sowhat strange.

“Hasn’t interviewed? Why not?” Guo Hanlin looked at Chen Yang with genuine surprise.

Wang Jingman wasn’t sure about this either, so she couldn’t answer for Chen Yang and left it to him to respond.

“It’s a personal choice, not easy to explain. I just want to spend a few more years studying dicine at ho.” Chen Yang thought for a mont and chose to be evasive, not revealing the true situation.

He was only accompanying Wang Jingman today to see how it went, and there wasn’t going to be much interaction afterward, so there was no need to say much.

But little did he know.

His answer led Guo Hanlin to a different interpretation.

When Chen Yang said he was studying dicine at ho, Guo Hanlin assud it was because Chen Yang’s dical skills were inadequate, hence no mainstream hospitals wanted him.

The earlier statent about not applying was probably just putting a positive spin on things.

With this thought, a knowing smile appeared on Guo Hanlin’s face.

“Oh, I see,” Guo Hanlin nodded with a smile and didn’t say anything further.

“Mm.” Chen Yang nodded slightly and didn’t add anything more.

After a minute or two of silence on their side, Guo Hanlin suddenly spoke again.

“Oh, by the way, which university did you study dicine at? I have a bit of knowledge about various schools, maybe I know your professor,” Guo Hanlin asked with a smile.

Even though Guo Hanlin’s deanor didn’t change much, others might not notice anything different.

But Chen Yang, observing carefully, noticed that Guo Hanlin’s tone was evidently more confident than before.

You could even say, at this point, he was speaking to Chen Yang from a higher status.

“Just from South dical,” Chen Yang replied casually.

“South dical? That school’s teaching level isn’t high, is it?” Guo Hanlin suddenly frowned, showing a rather surprised expression.

He seed to be implying that the school wasn’t great, so why would soone need to stay ho and continue studying after graduating?

“Yes, in terms of professional knowledge compared to so specialized universities, there’s indeed a gap, but studying dicine at ho is unrelated to the school; it’s purely a personal interest.” Chen Yang replied with a smile.

“Oh, I see,” Guo Hanlin suddenly understood and smiled, then persistently asked Chen Yang what he was researching at ho.

By this point, Chen Yang clearly felt that sothing was off with Guo Hanlin.

This guy had been talking to him nonstop since noticing him, asking about this and that.

It was clear he was trying to dig into Chen Yang’s background.

The reason for this was naturally obvious.

It must be because of Wang Jingman.

Realizing this, Chen Yang couldn’t help but chuckle, and then he didn’t bother with evasive answers or deliberate concealnt.

He directly stated his real situation.

“Studying traditional Chinese dicine at ho, planning to develop in this direction,” Chen Yang said calmly.

“Traditional Chinese dicine?” Guo Hanlin was taken aback, displaying a look of disbelief.

His incredulous expression was genuine.

Because he truly didn’t expect soone to delve into traditional Chinese dicine, which was a fading field in the dical world.

“Yes, Chen Yang specializes in traditional Chinese dicine and has profound dical knowledge in this area.” Seeing the two engaged in conversation, Wang Jingman joined in and nodded, saying a few words for Chen Yang.

Upon realizing that Chen Yang was genuinely studying traditional Chinese dicine and not joking around, Guo Hanlin’s face revealed a aningful smile.

“Alright, I wouldn’t have guessed that Brother Chen is into traditional Chinese dicine studies,” Guo Hanlin smirked slightly. Then, as if he had lost interest in Chen Yang, he switched his attention and started talking to Wang Jingman.

He no longer initiated conversations with Chen Yang or asked him any more questions.

Chen Yang noticed this obvious change in attitude and couldn’t help but smile.

He thought to himself, this guy probably thinks I’m into traditional Chinese dicine and sees no threat, so he stopped talking to ?

But whatever, there wouldn’t be much interaction in the future; let him think what he wants.

Guo Hanlin continued chatting with Wang Jingman.

Wang Jingman didn’t notice anything unusual and conversed with him normally.

Chen Yang sat quietly to the side, eating and sipping a little wine.

Once they were almost done eating, the session gradually moved to its main agenda.

Everyone began formally discussing dical matters.

Most of the people sitting in this room were graduates from prestigious universities.

So had even returned from studying abroad.

Guo Hanlin was one of them.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t hold such a high position, being respectfully called “Professor Guo” by those around him, his status greatly admired.

Being esteed figures in the dical field, the topics they discussed were naturally very professional.

Although Chen Yang’s university wasn’t as renowned as theirs, it was still one of the top universities in the country, so he understood what they were talking about.

But Chen Yang remained silent, just listening to their enthusiastic discussion.
