"It’s really happening."
Looking at the changes in the Gu Family building, Chen Yang understood why.
No doubt, it was targeted at him.
He just didn’t know how they would act, or in what manner they would co at him.
"Whatever, when the soldiers co, we’ll block them; when the water cos, we’ll build an earth dam. It’s nothing to overthink."
Chen Yang shook his head, stopped paying attention to the Gu Family building, and turned to explore other parts of the village.
The village of Caose River was quite peaceful; compared to noon and afternoon, there was hardly any noise.
At monts like this, Chen Yang felt a bit of the old village vibe.
"Yang Zi, where are you going? Want to co by my shop?" As Chen Yang was strolling, he happened to et Uncle Niu, who was heading to open his store.
With the steady developnt of tourism, Uncle Niu’s convenience store was bustling with business.
Tourists coming and going constantly stopped by his shop to buy things.
And Uncle Niu was genuine; he didn’t raise prices despite the booming business.
He only added a slight fee for the storefront.
For example, in a regular tourist spot, a bottle of water might cost you five yuan.
But Uncle Niu only sold it for three yuan, which, although still one yuan pricier than outside, was quite fair.
After all, storefront costs are there, and if sold at regular prices, it wouldn’t be much of a business.
"Haha, no, Uncle Niu, I have things to do. You go ahead." Chen Yang chuckled, waving his hand to decline Uncle Niu’s offer.
Uncle Niu’s days were getting better and better, with more smiles on his face, cheerful almost every day.
"Alright then, Yang Zi, drop by the shop soti, you’re always welco." Uncle Niu said with a smile.
"Sure, I’ll definitely co by when I have the ti."
Chen Yang nodded in agreent, then walked past Uncle Niu and headed towards the village office along the main road.
When he reached the village office, Chen Yang thought Wu Kexin might be working in the upstairs office.
Just as he was about to go up, he noticed the door to a room on the first floor was slightly open.
So, he walked over.
Upon pushing open the door, he saw Wu Kexin tidying things on the bed.
"Kexin, why are you packing?"
Chen Yang walked into the room, a bit puzzled.
Hearing the voice, Wu Kexin glanced back at Chen Yang, then continued packing.
"There’s not much going on in the village lately, so I thought I’d go back for a bit. Didn’t you tell last ti that you’d give a break? How quickly you forget."
Wu Kexin said with a smile, packing as she spoke.
"I really forgot if you hadn’t ntioned it." Chen Yang laughed, walking over to hug her from behind.
Wu Kexin paused, a blush quickly appearing on her face.
"What are you doing in broad daylight? Aren’t you afraid of being seen?"
Though Wu Kexin chastised Chen Yang with her words, she didn’t struggle, instead allowing him to hold her.
"It’s likely everyone hasn’t left yet. Who would co to the village office?" Chen Yang chuckled, then asked, "So how long do you plan to go back for? When will you return?"
"What? Missing already before I even left?" Wu Kexin turned around, locking eyes with Chen Yang.
Holding her slender waist, Chen Yang wore a gentle expression.
"Of course, I’m used to having you around. If you suddenly leave, I won’t be able to adjust."
His words sounded like sweet talk but were his true feelings.
Among all the won around him, Wu Kexin was the one he saw every day. Beyond their personal relationship, they were also partners.
They had done a lot for the village together. From this standpoint alone, Chen Yang wasn’t willing for Wu Kexin to be away for too long.
And Wu Kexin understood Chen Yang’s feelings.
Her heart felt warm, and a smile full of happiness appeared on her face.
"Don’t worry, I won’t be away for long, just three days at most. Just rember to co pick up from the county then." She tiptoed lightly, giving Chen Yang a peck on the cheek.
"Got the wrong spot?"
Chen Yang teased.
Feeling embarrassed making the first move, Wu Kexin turned even redder when Chen Yang expressed dissatisfaction.
"That’s enough, don’t push it."
Wu Kexin said, blushing.
Chen Yang chuckled, not pressing further.
He let go and helped her pack.
Once they finished, he drove her to the county to catch a bus.
Though she could’ve called her family to pick her, she didn’t for so reason.
Chen Yang didn’t ask much, guiding Wu Kexin to buy a ticket and then board the bus to the provincial city.
"Kexin, ssage when you arrive, and let know when you co back so I can pick you up." After settling her luggage, Chen Yang reminded her.
"Sure, I will."
"Okay then, I’ll head off. Call anyti if anything cos up."
Chen Yang nodded, then got off the bus.
He had wanted to spend more ti with Wu Kexin, but the bus was about to depart, so he had to leave.
As soon as he got off, the bus doors closed, and with a roar, it left the station.
Watching Wu Kexin leave, Chen Yang felt an empty space in his heart.
This feeling was much stronger than any previous ones.
Perhaps because Wu Kexin held a special place in his heart.
"It’s only three days, it’ll be over in a flash."
Shaking his head, Chen Yang quickly brushed off the strange feeling and left the station.
Not feeling great, he wasn’t planning on going back to the village and decided to drive around instead.
Just then, Wang Jingman ssaged him.
She felt bored and suggested hanging out.
His first thought was a date upon reading this.
Why else would soone ask an opposite sex friend out for fun without a reason?
"Sure, no problem."
Chen Yang gladly accepted, and after confirming Wang Jingman was still at the hotel, he set off in his car.
About twenty minutes later, Chen Yang arrived at the hotel.
Finding a place to park, he took the elevator upstairs and knocked on Wang Jingman’s door.
Knock knock.
"Coming."
As soon as he knocked, Wang Jingman’s voice was heard inside.
A mont later, followed by footsteps, the door opened.
"Chen Yang, you got here so fast. I’m not even done with my makeup."
Wang Jingman still had uneven makeup on her face, seemingly halfway through applying it.
Her clothes were also pajamas, not yet dressed up.
But with her natural beauty, she still looked quite attractive.
"I just saw your ssage after dropping off Kexin, so it didn’t take long to co over." Chen Yang said with a smile.
"Co in, have a seat."
"Alright."
Chen Yang entered the room, comfortably sitting on the sofa as Wang Jingman continued doing her makeup at the vanity not far away.
