Woof woof!

"Hey! What are you doing, you dumb dog? I’m kindly offering to examine your bones, and you bite !"

Chen Yang was in the kitchen preparing dinner when he suddenly heard barking from the courtyard, along with the voice of Taoist Liu.

He put down what he was doing and quickly went outside.

He saw Taoist Liu being chased around the courtyard in a frenzy by Wang Cai.

Wang Cai was barking incessantly as he chased.

anwhile, Taoist Liu kept mumbling nonstop as he ran.

"Truly a case of the dog biting Lu Dongbin, unable to recognize a good person’s intentions! Will you ever stop, you dead dog?"

"Hey! Chen Yang, my young friend, can you control your dog? I’m really about to get bitten!"

After running for a while, Taoist Liu spotted Chen Yang and imdiately pleaded for help.

Although he didn’t understand what was happening, seeing the old guy being bitten by Wang Cai gave him an inexplicable sense of amusent.

"Wang Cai!"

He called out to Wang Cai to stop.

Woof woof!

Wang Cai was obedient; hearing Chen Yang’s call, he imdiately stopped the chase. After barking a couple of tis, he trotted over to where Chen Yang stood.

Chen Yang smiled, patted Wang Cai, and then looked over at Taoist Liu.

Having been chased in circles, Taoist Liu was quite exhausted, panting heavily.

"Young man, isn’t your dog a bit too aggressive? I just gave him a little pat, and he started chasing . I think you should buy a leash to keep him from biting others." Taoist Liu complained about Wang Cai while catching his breath.

Woof woof!

Hearing Taoist Liu’s continued rambling, Wang Cai’s suppressed anger flared up again. He barked twice aggressively, ready to charge at him.

But Chen Yang held him back.

"Wang Cai is usually well-behaved; maybe you should reflect on your own behavior," Chen Yang replied calmly.

Upon hearing this, Taoist Liu felt indignant: "Young friend, that’s quite unfair. I really didn’t provoke him, just saw him as an extraordinary dog and wanted to feel his bones. How was I supposed to know he’d react this way?"

Taoist Liu was quite the character.

Naturally, Chen Yang wasn’t inclined to argue with him further.

"You should know if there’s sothing on your part; I’m just giving you a heads-up. Wang Cai was lenient just now. If you stir him up again, I’m not intervening," Chen Yang said.

Taoist Liu, hearing this, lightened up with an awkward smile.

"Haha, got it. Chen Yang, my young friend, go ahead and get busy. I’ll just wander around, not causing any trouble," Taoist Liu smiled and said.

Chen Yang ignored him, patted Wang Cai one last ti, and returned to the kitchen.

The courtyard indeed quieted down afterward.

Clearly, Taoist Liu was quite afraid of Wang Cai.

With the courtyard calm, Chen Yang sped up dinner preparations, finishing five or six dishes in less than half an hour.

He set the table and first called out for Hui Neng.

Hui Neng was quite polite, awkwardly muttering words of thanks.

The two n made Chen Yang feel a bit awkward.

With Hui Neng seated, Chen Yang went to the backyard intending to call Taoist Liu.

But unexpectedly, upon reaching the courtyard, he saw the old guy had removed his shoes and was ambling around his herbal garden.

Seeing this, Chen Yang’s heart sank.

He hurried over.

"What are you doing?"

With a full face of smiles, Taoist Liu didn’t sense anything was amiss upon seeing Chen Yang’s expression.

Instead, he said cheerfully to Chen Yang: "My young friend Chen Yang, I didn’t expect your courtyard to have so many rare herbs, and of such fine quality! If these were sold on the market, they would fetch a high price indeed."

Taoist Liu looked like a miser, with his eyes gleaming as he spoke.

Chen Yang frowned: "These herbs are of use to . Can you at least inform before wandering off? What if you destroy my herbs?"

Hearing Chen Yang’s tone, Taoist Liu realized sothing was wrong.

He quickly smiled awkwardly, stepping out of the herb garden.

"Haha, that won’t happen. Although my main study is feng shui, I’m quite knowledgeable about these herbs, so no need to worry," Taoist Liu said with an awkward smile.

"That’s a different matter," Chen Yang replied calmly.

"Yes, yes, I was a bit reckless. I’ll be more careful in the future," Taoist Liu nodded repeatedly in agreent.

Chen Yang didn’t want to argue with him any further, so after announcing that dinner was ready, he left.

Taoist Liu hurriedly washed his feet, put on his shoes, and joined them at the table.

Although he had eaten earlier in the afternoon, he didn’t hold back at all.

His appetite seed like a bottomless pit, never stopping since he sat down.

While eating, he kept complinting.

"Chen Yang, my young friend, your cooking skills are quite sothing, comparable to my youth."

"Young friend, where did you find these mountain mushrooms? They taste so fresh!"

...

Taoist Liu was not only a social butterfly but also a chatterbox; he could talk continuously even if no one paid him attention.

"Chen Yang, regarding the feng shui matters, it looks like I won’t be much help. I plan to return to the temple tomorrow."

After dinner, Hui Neng suddenly said to Chen Yang.

Chen Yang paused slightly.

Beside him, Taoist Liu, who was flushed from drinking, was also montarily stunned, and then he said: "Master Hui Neng, you’re leaving already? Won’t you continue learning feng shui with ?"

Hui Neng chuckled: "You old fellow guard your secrets closely. I doubt anything can be learned from you."

"Haha, not really. You’ll still learn a lot over ti," Taoist Liu chuckled, took a sip of wine, and said.

Hui Neng did not respond further. He turned to Chen Yang and said, "Chen Yang, you cured my master’s hidden ailnt and granted the three of us rcy. These two favors we will repay. Also, as always, if you ever need anything, co to Yunlong Temple anyti. We will be ready to receive you."

Hui Neng’s sudden departure caught Chen Yang by surprise.

After a brief mont, he understood.

Indeed, with the feng shui in the village, Taoist Liu was already taking care of it.

There wasn’t much reason for Hui Neng to stay.

Since he wished to return, Chen Yang felt it was inappropriate to ask him to stay.

After a mont of reflection, Chen Yang nodded in agreent.

"It’s not a debt of gratitude; let’s just be friends. Don’t worry, if the need arises, I’ll surely visit you and your master," Chen Yang said with a smile.

"You’re always welco."

Hui Neng politely smiled, and with that, the al ended.

...

The next day.

Hui Neng left quite early.

Chen Yang originally wanted to drive him, but Hui Neng refused.

Since Chen Yang had many tasks at ho, he didn’t insist.

He just accompanied him to the village bus stop. After the bus left, he returned to the clinic.

On reaching the clinic, Chen Yang intended to call on Taoist Liu for a field visit.

To confirm the construction team’s project directives for the day.

But upon returning ho, he discovered the man was gone.

He searched inside and out, but there was no sign of Taoist Liu.
