Seeing this scene, Chen Yang didn’t say much.
"Leader, what do we do next? Should we report all these people to the police?" After putting away the money, Li ngzi quickly asked.
"No rush to call the police, first take to Sky Eagle Peak," Chen Yang said calmly.
Although Lao Fu was dealt with, the Sky Eagle Gang behind him was not.
If we want no trouble at the mine in the future, we must eradicate them entirely!
"Ah? Go to Sky Eagle Peak?" Li ngzi was very surprised and looked hesitant, seemingly unwilling to go.
"What? You don’t want to go?" Chen Yang noticed Li ngzi’s expression.
Li ngzi quickly shook his head, "It’s not that I don’t want to go... just not safe."
Chen Yang laughed.
"I’ve handled so many people, what are you afraid of?"
"Well... you’re right. But leader, taking you there is extra work, can’t I get so reward?" Li ngzi rembered the way Chen Yang handled Lao Fu and the others earlier, and he was still very impressed. With safety concerns gone, he started thinking about other things.
Chen Yang raised an eyebrow, "You’re quite greedy; you just received ten thousand, plus the promised twenty thousand, and you’re still not satisfied?"
"No, no, leader, I’m sorry, I’ll take you there now."
Li ngzi, being sly, noticed Chen Yang’s change in attitude and quickly agreed, no longer ntioning rewards.
Chen Yang couldn’t be bothered to lecture this guy.
Glancing at him, he then picked up the unconscious Lao Fu and walked out of the house.
The sky at five in the morning was just dimly lit enough to see the road.
Li ngzi walked ahead, followed by Chen Yang carrying Lao Fu.
Walking along the mountain road for over an hour, as the sun was about to rise, they finally saw Sky Eagle Peak.
It was a very conspicuous peak, with beautiful scenery and a small creek about a ter and a half wide flowing at its foot.
From a certain perspective, it was considered a feng shui treasure.
Having spent so ti with Liu the Taoist recently, Chen Yang learned a bit about feng shui spots.
"Leader, your physical fitness is incredible, carrying soone up the mountain without feeling tired? I really can’t go on, I need a rest." Li ngzi sat on a rock, gasping for breath, really unable to continue.
The entire way was uphill, and many parts of the road had grown desolate from long disuse.
Li ngzi holding out for an hour before giving in was actually quite good.
"How far is it to Sky Eagle Peak?" Chen Yang looked at the particularly prominent peak in the distance.
In the mountains, these peaks appeared not far, but in reality, took a lot of ti to reach.
As the saying goes, "looking at the mountain, the horse will run to death."
"I estimate it will take another half an hour to get there," Li ngzi gasped.
Chen Yang felt helpless.
At his pace, it would take at most half an hour from the foot of the mountain to Sky Eagle Peak.
But he needed Li ngzi to lead the way.
No choice but to stop and take a break.
"Leader, when you were young, did you train in a temple? When we’re done today, could you teach ? I’d like to learn," Li ngzi suddenly said, smiling at Chen Yang.
He was completely unaware of the cultivator and just instinctively thought Chen Yang had learned martial arts due to his impressive fighting ability.
Chen Yang laughed at Li ngzi’s words.
"Li ngzi, you’re a notorious scoundrel in the villages. If I taught you martial arts, wouldn’t you beco a tyrant in the countryside? You wish," Chen Yang teased, laughing.
To his surprise, Li ngzi was anxious.
"Leader, I may be a bit of a scoundrel, but don’t compare to a tyrant. I have a conscience, you know? I grew up in Fuling Village; how could I bully the villagers?" Li ngzi said with conviction.
Chen Yang saw this guy could actually speak such words, and couldn’t help but look at him more respectfully.
It seed he wasn’t a pure scoundrel but had so conscience.
The two rested for about five minutes before Chen Yang urged them to continue.
Li ngzi was similar in age to Chen Yang, in the pri of life.
After a short rest, he recovered quite a bit of strength, so he said nothing and got up to follow Chen Yang toward Sky Eagle Peak.
The deeper they went along the mountain road, the tougher it beca.
But they didn’t rest and pushed on to the foot of Sky Eagle Peak.
"Leader, this is Sky Eagle Peak; I don’t know how to reach the summit."
Exhausted again upon reaching the foot of the mountain, Li ngzi sat by the creek, scooped up so water, and washed his face.
Chen Yang was his usual self, unbothered and breathing evenly, as if nothing had happened.
Once there, he imdiately looked around.
He found himself surrounded by pristine wilderness, with no trace of human activity.
Let alone a gang base.
"Poof..."
Just as Chen Yang was beginning to suspect he’d been duped, the long-jolted Lao Fu awoke from unconsciousness.
He spat a mouthful of blood and slowly opened his eyes.
When he saw the familiar surroundings, he felt both joy and surprise.
Joy was returning to a familiar place.
Surprise was Chen Yang’s audacity to co here!
"Awake? Great, I’ve got questions. Didn’t you say this is the headquarters of your Sky Eagle Gang? Where is it?" Chen Yang asked imdiately upon seeing Lao Fu awaken.
Li ngzi also watched Lao Fu closely, wanting to see how he answered.
If the answer was unsatisfactory, Li ngzi would probably kick him, given the long trek wasn’t made in vain.
Lao Fu didn’t answer imdiately, but after a mont’s pause, he spoke, "Though this is our headquarters, few people live here, only our leader secluded here."
"Only your leader secluded?"
Chen Yang looked at Lao Fu.
"Yes, there’s a small house atop Sky Eagle Peak, if you don’t believe , you can go see for yourself," Lao Fu knew it was impossible to hide now, so he revealed the truth.
Upon hearing this, Chen Yang looked up at the peak, finding it a suitable place for cultivation.
So his words had so validity.
"Lao Fu, don’t fool us. If it’s false, you’re the one to suffer," Li ngzi quickly chid in.
He didn’t want to be tricked into climbing up.
Sky Eagle Peak was steep, making it quite a challenge to ascend.
