Capítulo 1816: Chapter 1810: Discussing Formations
Gurgle…
Just as Chen Yang started daydreaming, the low rumble of his stomach pulled him back.
At this mont, he looked up to notice that the sky outside had already turned dark.
“Let’s get sothing to eat. Liu Daoist should be coming over soon.”
Chen Yang had no intention of going overboard and indulging in a big al. After training all afternoon, making so progress was already good enough.
So he didn’t plan on going any further.
Cultivation is like work; it’s best to balance work and rest.
Continuous training might instead backfire, yielding poor returns.
After leaving the room, Chen Yang headed straight to the kitchen to make himself a fairly hearty dinner.
Soon after eating, Liu Daoist cheerfully ca over with Wang Cai.
Once Liu Daoist arrived, Chen Yang didn’t bother with small talk and imdiately described the formation he encountered to Liu Daoist in the backyard.
Fearing that Liu Daoist might not understand, he even took the ti to sketch out the basic structure on paper for him.
Chen Yang had a knack for drawing; although it wasn’t exceptionally good, everything necessary was there, with no missing details.
Liu Daoist’s eyes brightened as he picked up the formation drawn by Chen Yang, studying it with keen interest as he paced back and forth.
His brows furrowed into a deep line, looking extrely serious.
After watching Liu Daoist pace back and forth dozens of tis and more than 20 minutes had passed, Chen Yang couldn’t help but speak up, “Old man, can you make anything out of it?”
“Chen Yang, my young friend, don’t be impatient. This formation of yours is quite intricate—it seems ancient. Since I’m not a professional, I naturally need more ti to observe,” Liu Daoist replied cheerfully.
Unable to do anything else, Chen Yang allowed him to continue studying it.
Liu Daoist continued researching for another ten minutes or so, during which he asked Chen Yang several inexplicable questions.
Finally, he reached a conclusion.
“Chen Yang, my young friend, this formation of yours is definitely an ancient one! Its profoundness is at least of the Dark Grade Upper level,” Liu Daoist stated confidently, sitting opposite Chen Yang.
Chen Yang understood the first part.
The Red Cloud Ancient Cave had existed for thousands of years, so the formation was indeed ancient.
But what did Dark Grade Upper an?
Chen Yang didn’t understand this phrase, so he asked Liu Daoist.
Upon hearing Chen Yang’s question, Liu Daoist was surprised, “No way, Chen Yang, my young friend, you don’t even know what Dark Grade Upper ans?”
“I’ve never dealt with formations, so how would I know? Is it a classification of formation levels?” Chen Yang asked.
“That’s right.”
Liu Daoist nodded with a smile and then began to explain to Chen Yang seriously.
“Cultivation Techniques are divided into four major levels: Heaven, Earth, Dark, and Yellow. Formations are similar, divided into the sa levels, with corresponding Array Masters for each level.”
“I once saw in an ancient text that a Dark Grade Upper Array Master transcends ordinary Array Masters and can effortlessly set up a grand formation.”
“And it’s a formidable formation, capable of facing off against a Qi Refiner!”
“Of course, reaching such a level is extrely challenging and requires a high formation talent,” Liu Daoist explained seriously.
Chen Yang imdiately understood after hearing this.
“So, as you just said, this is a Dark Grade Upper level formation. Does that an the person who set up this formation is at least a Dark Grade Upper-level Array Master?” Chen Yang asked.
“Correct. The level of an Array Master dictates the level of formation they can set up. Whoever set up this formation is certainly a Dark Grade Upper-level Array Master,” Liu Daoist nodded firmly.
Upon hearing this, Chen Yang couldn’t help but feel a weight in his heart.
If that were the case, wouldn’t it require abilities of at least Dark Grade Upper to fully break this formation?
“I can’t break this formation of yours; it’s too complex. But there’s a way you could try; it might work,” Liu Daoist seed to sense what was on Chen Yang’s mind and began to explain.
“What way?”
As soon as Chen Yang heard there was a way, he eagerly looked at Liu Daoist.
Liu Daoist, with his hand supporting his chin, appeared deep in thought and said, “Logically, to break such a formation, you would need a Dark Grade Upper Array Master or at least a Dark Grade Mid-level Array Master.”
“But didn’t you just say? This is a layer-upon-layer formation. Maybe the master who set this up left thods of dismantling it at every stage.”
“So, if you learn formations, spend so ti studying this ancient formation in your spare ti, you might break it step by step as I suspect,” Liu Daoist said.
Being well-read in his many years, Liu Daoist had heard many rumors about formations.
Many formation masters, dedicated their lives to studying the path of formations, and when unable to find a suitable heir before their demise, they would set up a layered formation in a concealed place.
Anyone who could comprehend the essence of their formations layer by layer could break the grand formation.
And once the grand formation was broken, it ant their life’s skills had found a successor.
Although he had never seen the grand formation described by Chen Yang, Liu Daoist felt that it was very similar to the rumors he had heard.
Liu Daoist then shared this rumor with Chen Yang.
Chen Yang listened in silence, seemingly pondering sothing.
“Although I’m not absolutely sure, the structure of this formation matches the rumor I heard. If true, you’re going to be rich! A Dark Grade Upper Array Master’s legacy would be incredibly precious, even in ancient tis filled with masters. You should cherish this opportunity.”
“Better to waste a little ti than to miss out on such a chance,” Liu Daoist advised earnestly, patting Chen Yang on the shoulder.
Chen Yang felt it made a lot of sense.
If it weren’t true, he would only waste a little ti.
But if it’s as Liu Daoist said, and that formation was set up by a master looking for an heir, then he’d hit the jackpot.
“I understand. I’ll make ti to study it properly,” Chen Yang nodded.
“Good, that’s best. This formation is too intricate, and I can’t help you. You’ll have to figure it out yourself.” With that, Liu Daoist stood up, ready to leave.
But before stepping out, he turned back, “By the way, can you give so more of those elixirs?”
“That Wang Cai, such a snob; without the elixirs, he won’t listen to a word I say,” Liu Daoist showed a bitter expression.
Chen Yang couldn’t help but chuckle, realizing why only Liu Daoist had co today and not Wang Cai.
It turned out it was because of the lack of body-strengthening elixirs.
“Wait a mont.”
Chen Yang smiled and, without saying much, went to his room and brought out a bottle for Liu Daoist.
Liu Daoist laughed and said a couple of polite words before leaving imdiately.
After Liu Daoist left, Chen Yang sat in the backyard, lost in thought for a long ti.
“I must find an opportunity to visit the ancient cave again. If it’s truly as Liu Daoist said, I’ll be hitting a gold mine,” Chen Yang silently resolved before returning to his room to continue his cultivation.
