Even though it’s just about work, how could Chen Yang be willing?
Things that need doing should still be done first; work can wait a bit.
Li Han blushed but didn’t refuse...
...
At three in the afternoon, Li Han changed into casual clothes and started working.
anwhile, Chen Yang was lying on the sofa, playing on his phone.
Feeling bored, he started scrolling through short videos and such.
It seed like the phone knew the Liuhua Village Scenic Area had sothing to do with Chen Yang, constantly pushing a series of videos related to the scenic area.
There were official videos from the scenic area’s small video team.
And many beautiful photos taken by tourists playing in the scenic area.
Anyway, there were plenty.
And the videos had considerable views, almost all of them had tens of thousands of likes.
"Seems like the scenic area is about to beco really popular, I’ll have to give the short video team a raise when I get back, they’re doing a great job with the managent," Chen Yang mumbled to himself.
In this era of traffic, being hot online represents popularity in the scenic area.
It can bring huge revenues to the scenic area.
The short video team deserves credit and certainly needs a reward.
Ding ding ding...
Just as Chen Yang was engrossed, a phone call suddenly ca in.
"Aunt Wang? Is sothing going on in the village?"
The call was from Wang Hong; seeing this number surprised him because Wang Hong rarely called him.
"Hello, Aunt Wang." After thinking for a mont, he swiped the screen to answer the call.
"Yang Zi, where are you now? Co back quickly! A relative ca to your house, and they look very weak, they might not make it." Wang Hong’s anxious voice ca through the phone.
"What? A relative of mine?" Upon hearing Wang Hong’s words, Chen Yang was even more surprised. When did he have a relative?
He grew up with his parents and grandfather, never hearing of any other relatives!
"Yes, a man in his thirties fainted at your doorstep. Uncle Niu and I helped him up; he insisted he was your relative, so I imdiately called you. Hurry back and take a look!" Wang Hong explained the situation.
Chen Yang was very surprised, feeling it’s unrealistic.
But given Wang Hong’s urgent tone, he didn’t have ti to think much. After saying he’d head back soon, he hung up the phone.
"What’s wrong, Chen Yang? Is sothing up at ho?"
Li Han saw Chen Yang hung up and stood up, imdiately concerned and asked.
"Sothing happened at ho; soone claid to be my relative." Chen Yang replied.
"Huh? A relative visited? Isn’t that a good thing? Why do you look like that?" Li Han was a bit confused.
"Well... It’s hard to explain right now; I should head back first. It sounds pretty urgent over the phone. I’ll tell you when there’s ti." Chen Yang didn’t know how to explain it to Li Han.
There weren’t supposed to be any relatives; a sudden one showing up claiming to be family was a bewildering feeling, hard to describe.
"I’ll go with you, I don’t have much else to do anyway, let’s go take a look together." Li Han quickly got out of the desk, wanting to go to Liuhua Village with Chen Yang.
"Alright, let’s go together."
Chen Yang didn’t refuse, and the two quickly left the office, taking the elevator to the underground parking lot.
Then they drove back to Liuhua Village.
Half an hour later, he brought Li Han back ho.
He shut the car door with a slam, only to find the entrance to his house empty, nothing there.
"Where is everyone?"
Chen Yang wondered.
"Could they have gone to rest at soone else’s place when they saw you weren’t back?" Li Han got out of the car too.
"Possibly."
Chen Yang nodded and then took out his phone to contact Wang Hong.
"Yang Zi, your relative seems to have so illness, they’re very weak. Uncle Niu and I brought him to your company’s infirmary." Wang Hong answered.
"Alright, I’m on my way."
Upon hearing about the infirmary, Chen Yang didn’t ask much and hung up to head there with Li Han.
Arriving at the infirmary, he saw Wang Hong, Uncle Niu, Grandpa Xiao, and several other villagers.
The doctors in the infirmary were busy running around.
In the ward, lying on the bed was a man dressed in tattered clothes, looking almost like a beggar.
The man was skinny, his hair ssy and unkempt, obviously not trimd for a long ti, or maintained at all.
But despite looking like a beggar, he had an inexplicable vitality.
That sort of presence isn’t sothing just anyone possesses.
"Oh my, Yang Zi, you’re finally here, take a look at your relative. He’s so weak, barely hanging in there." Wang Hong said as she ca forward when she saw Chen Yang arrive.
By now, Chen Yang had glanced around and observed the man.
He was frail, malnourished.
There weren’t any fatal injuries, just extre weakness that could be alleviated with so nourishnt.
He just looked frightening; Wang Hong and the others didn’t understand, so they thought the man’s feeble condition ant he was dying.
"Start him on two bottles of glucose, and give him this to eat," Chen Yang directed the two doctors in the infirmary.
The infirmary belonged to Zhongcheng Company, so naturally, the doctors knew Chen Yang, the boss.
"Yes, Mr. Chen."
The two doctors didn’t dare to say much, imdiately following Chen Yang’s instructions.
After instructing the doctors, Chen Yang turned back to Wang Hong and asked, "Aunt Wang, what on earth is going on? As far as I know, we don’t have any relatives, how could a relative suddenly show up?"
Chen Yang was completely puzzled, not understanding the situation at all.
"What? You don’t have relatives? How is that possible, Yang Zi, he claid to be your relative, even knowing your grandpa and parents’ nas." Wang Hong was also surprised upon hearing Chen Yang.
She had deed him a relative of Chen Yang based on his assertive deanor, hence the imdiate call to Chen Yang.
Little did she know, there were supposedly no relatives.
"Knows my grandpa and parents’ nas?" Chen Yang couldn’t help but glance at the man on the bed, his expression filled with doubt.
He also started recalling whether he might actually have any relatives.
But after thinking it over, he had never heard of having any relatives in his entire life.
"Yes, he got it spot on, even describing what our village used to be like. Yang Zi, maybe you should really think about it, perhaps he’s truly your relative." Wang Hong remained convinced about the man’s words.
His determined tone at the verge of fainting didn’t sound like a lie at all.
"We don’t have relatives, I’ve thought it over. But it’s also possible he’s a distant relative from my grandpa’s generation. I’ll wait till he wakes up and ask him myself." Chen Yang decided after a brief mont to ask the man directly later.
Wang Hong hadn’t been living in Liuhua Village for long, only about ten years, so she didn’t know much about the old village affairs.
He figured he couldn’t get much information from her.
