Chen Yang smiled faintly and didn’t say anything more, instead walking past Dai Annie, up a small path by the roadside and into the mountain.
Seeing this, Dai Annie also followed along with Waungcai.
This was the first ti Dai Annie took this path up the mountain, so everything around piqued her interest.
She looked around along the way, and a path that would have normally taken an hour to enter deep into the mountain took them an hour and a half.

Dai Annie was really worn out. Seeing Chen Yang stop, she plopped right down on a rock by the road without saying a word.
“I’m really tired. Don’t you have any gentlemanly manners? Don’t you know how to take care of a girl?” Dai Annie said in a soft, weak voice.
Chen Yang laughed even more when he heard this.
He didn’t know what was up with this girl, whether it was familiarity or what.
Now she always spoke in that soft tone that naturally made one want to protect her.
“Alright, alright, we’ll rest like you said, and then we’ll look for herbs later.” Chen Yang sat down nearby to take a break.
Dai Annie saw Chen Yang sit down too and imdiately smiled.
“See, that’s more like it. You should be considerate of girls. I’m not as strong as you. I can’t handle long hikes.” Dai Annie playfully stuck her tongue out and said.
Chen Yang smiled without saying a word.
They quietly sat for over ten minutes before he stood up.
“Are you rested now? Can we set off again?”
“Ready!”
Dai Annie replied straightforwardly, getting up quickly as if she had fully recovered.
The difference in her attitude from earlier was like night and day.
“You sure change fast, girl.”
Chen Yang shook his head and said, then continued on his way.
Hearing Chen Yang’s words, Dai Annie giggled, then silently followed, accompanying Chen Yang in gathering herbs.
The herbs Chen Yang collected were quite precious, so it wasn’t just about finding them; each ti he dug them up from the earth, that was the ti and energy-consuming part.
But it was all done by Chen Yang.
Every ti Chen Yang was digging herbs, Dai Annie would either sit and rest watching him dig,
or wander nearby, enjoying the scenery or playing with Waungcai on the grass.
Giggling and laughing, she was having the ti of her life.

The two of them spent their afternoon in the mountains like this.
Not until around 4:30 in the afternoon did Chen Yang finish collecting all the herbs. Seeing the day was getting late, he decided to head down.
“Annie, have you had enough fun? It’s getting late, ti to head down.”
Chen Yang packed his tools and turned around to look at a lawn not far away. There, Dai Annie was leisurely taking in the scenery and picking wildflowers.

“Chen Yang, heading down already? It’s still quite early, isn’t it?” Dai Annie said excitedly.
At 4:30 in the sumr, the sun was still quite high.

“Chen Yang, let’s take a break over there and soak our feet, what do you say?” Dai Annie excitedly suggested to Chen Yang.
Chen Yang had the sa idea, so he nodded in agreent.
“Sure, let’s go soak for a while.”
Saying that, the two of them walked over to the pond together.
Reaching the pond, Waungcai was the first to rush over and drink the water with his tongue out.
Dai Annie promptly took off her shoes and found a flat rock to sit on comfortably, soaking her feet.
“Wow, this feels so good, I feel like my bones are lting!”
Dai Annie said with a face full of satisfaction.
Chen Yang looked at her with a smile: “Of course, we’ve been walking all day; soaking your feet is naturally soothing now.”
“Hehe, then don’t just stand there. Co and soak too; it really feels great.” Dai Annie smiled, waving Chen Yang over to join her.
Chen Yang set down his basket and walked over slowly.
Then he too found a suitable rock beside Dai Annie and sat down to soak his feet.
The water in this small pond was the cleanest spring water from the mountains.
This mountain spring water was not only clean but also very cool, making it feel as if all the pores of one’s skin opened up, incredibly soothing.
The two enjoyed this calming sensation together, and for a mont, neither of them spoke.
