Chapter 1127: Chapter 1124: Expressing Intentions

“`

She didn’t know when it happened, but she had actually fallen asleep. When Chu Heng heard her steady breathing, he looked up at the ceiling, forcibly suppressing his heartbeat as his eyes reddened slightly.

Some were loyal to him, some praised him, and some hated him to the bone, but only she, not even caring for her own life, came to acpany him.

The next morning.

Ye Muyu rubbed her eyes awake.

Someone brought in water from outside for washing.

...

When she heard the noise, she turned her head to see that Chu Heng had already sat down by the desk, and her sleeping couch had been moved to the middle of the room, exactly three yards away from her.

“Ah Heng, when did you move my couch here? I didn’t notice at all,” Ye Muyu rubbed her head.

Chu Heng stood up anxiously, frowning at her, “Are you feeling unwell?”

“Not at all,” she immediately shook her head, “I’m fine, nothing’s wrong.”

“I’ll have Lu Sangqi e to take your pulse,” Chu Heng obviously didn’t believe her, but Ye Muyu knew he was concerned about her and wasn’t angry.

After Chu Heng gave instructions to the guard outside, he pointed to the basin of water, “Ah Yu, you wash your face first.”

“You haven’t washed yet.”

“You wash first, then I’ll wash. Be good,” there was an undeniable softness in Chu Heng’s voice, imbued with helplessness.

“Alright, I’ll wash. Just don’t be angry,” Ye Muyu felt she was worried about him and wanted to take care of him, but no matter what, Chu Heng would refuse and whenever she approached him even slightly, he would remind her, mand her not to.

After Ye Muyu finished washing, she had someone bring in another basin of clean water.

She then moved three yards away from the basin and looked at Chu Heng, “You e over and wash now, I won’t e close to you.”

“I just don’t want you to get sick,” Chu Heng explained, and seeing that Ye Muyu really stayed put, he walked over and began to wash slowly, “I’ve practiced martial arts, my body is much stronger than others.”

“Since Lu Sangqi has medicine, nothing will happen to me. You shouldn’t have taken the risk to e here.”

Ye Muyu shook her head and squatted down beside him, “I was just worried about you, I never thought about what would happen if something went wrong with you.”

“I used to think I could live without you, but now the mere thought of being without you makes me very sad,” her voice was muffled, her head half-buried in her knees, hiding her embarrassed face from sight.

Chu Heng’s heart trembled as he stared at her, his fist trembling slightly at his side. Had he not restrained himself, he would have already gone over to hold her. “Don’t cry,” he coaxed.

Ye Muyu wiped her eyes, her voice subdued, “I’m not crying, just… just pretend you didn’t hear it, I didn’t say anything.”

The courage she had just now popped like a balloon, leaving Ye Muyu with burning cheeks. She didn’t dare to look at him and instinctively hid behind the curtain.

“Everything you said, I’ve taken to heart. How could I pretend I didn’t hear?” Chu Heng spoke with profound implications, as if his words were both a plaint and restrained joy.

Ye Muyu blushed even deeper, “Aren’t you an old man? How can you still speak sweet nothings?”

Chu Heng paused, realizing what she meant, and his smile faded slightly, “How am I an old man?”

Ye Muyu blinked, realizing she had misspoken. Although she had suspicions, she had never discussed them with Chu Heng or even touched on such subjects. Yet, here she was, bringing it up unintentionally today.

Her earlier embarrassment had dissipated, and what was left was merely unease. She looked up at him, seeing that he was backlit and his expression was unclear, but she could still feel his gaze on her.

She opened her mouth, not knowing how to continue this conversation. Should she say that she felt he might be reborn? That she was a soul from the future?
