“Mother, did you not rest well last night?” Ye Muyu asked with concern, noticing the dark circles and lack of energy in Madam Liu.
Madam Liu shook her head, “It’s nothing, just a nightmare. I should be fine after a nap this afternoon.”
Hearing this, Ye Muyu nodded and reminded her to take care of herself.
Madam Liu didn’t stay with her for too long, fearing that her daughter-in-law would notice something was off.
Ye Muyu couldn’t keep down her lunch again.
She sighed softly, touching her belly, “Lil’ Bao, please stop troubling your mother.”
“My lady, please think again, what would you like to eat? I could prepare several dishes for you to choose from,” the servant girl suggested.
Ye Muyu really couldn’t think of anything; she was hungry but without any appetite. After a while, she said, “I’ll go to the kitchen and see what’s there, maybe I’ll get some inspiration.”
“Very well, I’ll help you with your shoes,” the servant girl offered.
Ye Muyu let the maidservants help her dress properly.
Chun Xing and Su Mei stood by her side, supporting her as they all made their way to the kitchen.
In the large kitchen, the sound of incessant chatter was heard.
The Kitchen Maid asked curiously, “Is the news from outside true? Has the master really gone missing?”
