It startled them both awake.

“What is it?” Chu Heng’s expression didn’t change.
Ye Muyu sat on the carpet, pulling her knees up: “Huo Hongyan has disappeared. I sent Zhu San to look for her, but there’s still no news. I wonder if this has anything to do with Duke Zheng.”
“It does.” Chu Heng’s face remained calm, as if he’d heard the most routine news. After finishing washing the diaper, he had Su Mei bring in a basin of clean water.
Ye Muyu was curious: “How do you know? Will the young girl be okay?”
“She’ll be fine.” Seeing her genuine concern, Chu Heng disclosed a bit more: “I suspect the Huo family has something valuable, otherwise Duke Zheng wouldn’t be so relentless.”
“I’ve privately arranged for someone to keep an eye on the Huo family’s actions. Recently, make sure Ziluo doesn’t get too close to them, I’m worried she might get implicated.”

A mother naturally wants to protect her child to the end.

“I’ll tell you, but you have to agree to three of my requests.” A playful glint flashed in Chu Heng’s eyes and he pretended to be troubled.
Ye Muyu studied his face for a long time and didn’t find anything amiss, thinking Chu Heng’s requests wouldn’t be too outrageous, so she agreed.
After hearing the requests, Ye Muyu felt the Huo family was truly unlucky.
That night, after cooperating with Chu Heng in various poses, she indeed couldn’t get up the next morning.
When she woke up and saw the marks on her body, her cheeks flushed red.
Even when bathing, she didn’t want Su Mei and the two maids near her.
But she was so tired and hungry, lacking strength, that she could only call the two maids in for help while still dressed.
